No verified total is available for the two-hour WoW: Forever gold challenge described in the original headline. The challenge route, earnings, and the incidents named there could not be confirmed, so there is no sound basis for reporting a number. What can be established is that pre-launch gold rates had not been measured, and Blizzard has warned that illicit gold activity can put accounts at risk.
What the two-hour challenge earned
The gold total, route, and events described as a mugging, slander, and a crashout are unverified. Without the original article or video, it would be misleading to invent a result or reconstruct the story from the headline.
This matters because an in-game gold total is meaningful only with context: the character’s level and game build, the timed route, time spent traveling or selling, and whether the figure is gross or net of expenses. No verified challenge details are available to make those comparisons.
What was known about WoW: Forever gold rates before launch
In a guide updated September 21, 2026, MMODude said WoW: Forever had not launched, beta characters and gold would be wiped, and nobody had measured a real gold-per-hour figure for the game. Those are the guide’s dated pre-launch statements, not confirmation of the game’s present status. Read the pre-launch gold-farming guide.

The same guide expected a November 4, 2026 launch and said access would be included with an active WoW subscription or game time. Those, too, were expectations and access details reported by the guide on September 21, rather than independently verified current information.
Pre-launch gold-making advice—and its limits
Because it had no measured rate to recommend, MMODude’s guide offered practical pre-launch approaches rather than proven fastest routes:

On October 1, 2026, Blizzard Community Manager Kaivax said Blizzard was actioning accounts found botting to amass gold in the WoW: Forever Beta, as well as accounts that purchased or knowingly received illicit gold. Blizzard said consequences could include gold removal, account suspension, or permanent account closure. Read Blizzard’s enforcement announcement.

Kaivax also said Blizzard would add a warning for trades with strangers: “Be wary of accepting gold from unknown or suspicious sources.” The warning says that if the provider is engaged in real-money transactions, accepting the gold could put an account at risk of closure. Blizzard directs players to its support article about the risk.
That announcement supports a general account-safety warning; it does not verify claims about specific creators, bans, or the incidents in the two-hour challenge headline.
