As of October 4, 2026, Claude offers a free plan, individual subscriptions from $20 per month, team subscriptions from $30 per member per month, and quote-based Enterprise pricing. The API is billed separately by model and usage; a Claude chat subscription does not include API credits.

Which Claude plan should you choose?
Free: try Claude without a subscription
The Free plan costs $0 and provides the free Claude experience. It is the straightforward starting point if you want to use Claude chat without paying a recurring subscription. Like paid plans, it has usage limits; do not assume access is unlimited.
Pro: paid Claude chat for one person
Pro costs $20 for a monthly subscription or $200 up front for a year, which works out to $17 per month over the annual term. Choose the monthly option if you want to avoid the larger up-front payment; annual billing lowers the effective monthly price but commits you to paying for the year. Pro is an individual chat subscription, not a bundle of API usage.
Max: higher usage for an individual
Max starts at $100 per person per month. Anthropic describes 5x and 20x usage options compared with Pro; its Help Center lists those options at $100 and $200 monthly. The exact plan limits and prices can change, so check the current plan details before buying rather than treating a multiplier as a guarantee of a particular number of messages.
Team: per-member billing with a five-person minimum
Team is priced per member: $30 per member each month with monthly billing, or $25 per member per month with annual billing. Because a team must have at least five members, the listed base subscription for five seats is $150 per month on monthly billing, or $125 per month when billed annually. Those figures are before applicable taxes and assume the stated U.S. pricing; the Team billing guidance says local taxes and regional terms can affect the charge. Enterprise: request a quote for your organization
Anthropic does not publish a standard Enterprise price. Contact sales for a quote that identifies the organization’s needs and requested seat mix. API charges depend on the model and the amount and type of tokens processed. Anthropic’s published price tables distinguish input and output tokens and may also distinguish processing tier, caching, scope, or platform. Its API pricing PDF is effective May 12, 2026, and lists prices in U.S. dollars per million tokens unless otherwise noted.
