There is no single bulk-conversion price: URL-to-PDF APIs may charge monthly credit bundles, size-weighted credits with overages, or metered bandwidth and processing time. To estimate your bill, you need more than the number of URLs: measure typical and large PDF sizes, rendering time, monthly volume, and the concurrency or request rate needed to finish on schedule. The vendor prices below are USD shown on official pages checked October 3, 2026; confirm current terms before buying.

Published bulk pricing examples

These are examples of different billing models, not a market average. A credit or document is not necessarily one conversion: output size, plan allowance, and overage rules can change the effective cost.

Provider Published pricing or allowance How usage is counted Throughput or limit details
PDFCrowd As listed October 3, 2026: Nano $1/month for 10 credits; Micro $11 for 200; Small $23 for 1,000; Medium $35 for 5,000; Large $61 for 10,000; Ultimate $106 for 20,000; enterprise plans reach $2,630/month for 3,000,000 credits. PDFCrowd pricing One credit represents 0.5 MB of generated output, so larger PDFs consume multiple credits. The pricing page shows 15 requests/minute and concurrency 1 on Nano, compared with 480 requests/minute and concurrency 16 on the largest tiers.
PDFShift The pricing page lists a free plan with 50 monthly credits, a 15 MB maximum file size, and a 30-second timeout. Its FAQ describes Boost at $24/month for 2,500 credits, with additional credits at $0.03 each. Verify both examples before purchase. PDFShift pricing; PDFShift FAQ One credit covers each 5 MB of generated PDF output. A 14 MB PDF uses three credits. The FAQ says the default maximum is 50 parallel conversions.
API2PDF $1/month base charge, plus $0.001 per MB of bandwidth and $0.00019551 per second of compute, as listed October 3, 2026. API2PDF pricing Both bandwidth and render duration affect the bill. The vendor’s estimate widget uses an average two-second processing time; that is an estimate, not a promise about a particular job. Document count alone cannot determine the cost under this model.
DocRaptor Its overage documentation gives per-document charges: Basic 12¢, Professional 9¢, Premium 6¢, Max 3¢, Bronze 2.66¢, Silver 2.5¢, Gold 2.25¢. The Professional example includes 325 documents and charges 9¢ for each additional document in a billing cycle. DocRaptor overage documentation Overage is per document in the cited examples. These figures do not establish the full base-plan price. The limits page documents plan-based monthly quotas, 30 simultaneous requests, a default one-minute synchronous limit, and a ten-minute asynchronous limit. DocRaptor limits

Each figure is a vendor-published plan or documentation fact checked October 3, 2026, not an independently measured price comparison. DocRaptor’s cited overage schedule is not a complete base-price comparison; check its current pricing before estimating total spend.

How to estimate your monthly bill

  1. Measure representative jobs. Count expected monthly conversions and record generated PDF sizes, including a high-end size or percentile. Also record processing duration and the time window in which the batch must finish.
  2. Convert output into the provider’s billing unit. PDFCrowd lists one credit per 0.5 MB of output; PDFShift lists one credit per 5 MB. API2PDF meters bandwidth and compute time, while the cited DocRaptor overages are per document. Check each provider’s rounding, minimum charges, and plan-specific exceptions.
  3. Apply the included quota and overage rules. For the cited PDFShift Boost example, estimate additional-credit charges by multiplying credits beyond 2,500 by $0.03, then add the $24 monthly plan charge. For a metered service, estimate transferred megabytes and compute seconds from representative work rather than assuming every conversion takes the same time.
  4. Check whether the plan can finish the batch in time. Compare request-rate caps, parallel-job limits, timeouts, and any asynchronous or queue behavior with your peak workload. A sufficient monthly quota does not guarantee sufficient throughput.
  5. Project from a production-like pilot. Use URLs with similar page complexity, scripts, and asset loading to your real jobs; record output size and latency, then project usage. This is an estimation method, not a claim that any provider was tested here.

What matters besides the headline price

  • Effective cost per successful conversion: calculate it using the output sizes and durations you observed, not a simple monthly price divided by URL count.
  • Quota and billable unit: confirm whether the allowance is measured in documents, output-size credits, bytes, or compute time.
  • Over-quota behavior: determine whether jobs stop at the limit or continue with extra charges, and how those charges are calculated.
  • Peak throughput: match request-rate and concurrent-job limits to the batch’s completion deadline.
  • Timeout and execution mode: check synchronous limits and whether asynchronous jobs or callbacks are available if rendering can outlast a request timeout.
  • Rendering fit: validate that the API handles the scripts, assets, and page behavior your URLs require; do not assume different services render every page identically.

ScreenshotNeo as an alternative for URL capture

If your workflow can use a screenshot or PDF response rather than a dedicated document-conversion billing model, ScreenshotNeo is a separate option to evaluate: it accepts a URL and can return a screenshot or PDF. Its published plans are priced by monthly shot allowance, so compare the exact PDF behavior and your workload against the dedicated conversion services above before switching. The API endpoint is documented at ScreenshotNeo API documentation; do not assume the screenshot example below configures a PDF response.
