Influencer casino sponsorships work when a creator promotes a casino, gambling service, or related brand in exchange for money or another benefit. In the United States, the FTC says creators should clearly disclose that material connection where audiences encounter the endorsement. On YouTube, creators must also declare branded content through the platform’s paid-promotion setting; that setting does not replace the creator’s responsibility to make the disclosure clear and prominent.
This guide covers the U.S. FTC baseline and YouTube’s policy. Gambling-advertising laws and platform rules vary by jurisdiction and service, so these points should not be treated as a complete guide to other countries or social platforms.
How influencer casino sponsorships work
A sponsorship involves a creator endorsing or promoting a brand or service in return for something of value. That can mean a fee, but it can also include free or discounted services, perks, or other benefits. These may create a material connection that viewers should know about. The FTC says creators should not assume followers already know about the relationship, and that the creator is responsible for disclosure. See the FTC’s Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers.
A gambling-related example is the FTC’s 2017 CSGO Lotto matter. The agency alleged that the service’s owners promoted the gambling website without disclosing their ownership and that paid gaming influencers promoted it without disclosing compensation. The settlement required clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections. Those were allegations in the matter; they should not be recast as findings that every allegation was independently adjudicated as fact. Details are in the FTC announcement about the CSGO Lotto settlement.

What disclosures should viewers see?
The FTC guidance focuses on whether people can readily notice and understand the disclosure close to the endorsement. A disclosure buried on a profile page, hidden in a description, or available only after a viewer expands text may not reach people who see the promotional content.
The cited guidance does not establish one required phrase for every casino sponsorship or guarantee that any particular wording is a legal safe harbor. The disclosure should plainly explain the relationship in language the audience can understand, and appear with the endorsement.

Where to disclose by content format
| Format | Disclosure approach in FTC guidance |
|---|---|
| Static post | Place the disclosure with the endorsement so viewers can readily see and understand it; do not rely on a profile page or hidden or collapsed text. FTC guidance. |
| Image or story | Keep the disclosure visible and readable alongside the promotional content, rather than somewhere viewers must seek out or expand. FTC guidance. |
| Prerecorded video | Disclose within the video, not only in its description. The FTC guide says using both audio and visual disclosure may increase the chance viewers notice it. FTC guidance. |
| Livestream | Repeat the disclosure periodically so viewers who join at different times have a chance to see or hear it. FTC guidance. |
What YouTube requires—and what its setting does not do
For branded content on YouTube, creators must declare the promotion in Studio using the paid-promotion setting. YouTube says this adds a label to the video, but creators remain responsible for making the disclosure clear and prominent. The platform also cautions that local requirements may call for more. Consult YouTube’s paid product placements, sponsorships and endorsements policy.

Treat the YouTube declaration as one step in a disclosure workflow, not as proof that every legal requirement has been met. In its 2023 Endorsement Guides update announcement, the FTC said a platform’s built-in tool might not by itself be adequate. The creator’s disclosure responsibility remains; the FTC guide states, “As an influencer, it’s your responsibility to make these disclosures, to be familiar with the Endorsement Guides, and to comply with laws against deceptive ads.” See the FTC’s Endorsement Guides update and related guidance.

What this U.S. guidance does not settle
The FTC guidance provides a U.S. baseline for endorsement disclosures, and YouTube’s policy describes that platform’s branded-content workflow. They do not establish the gambling-advertising rules for every country, state, or platform. Requirements can vary with location and channel, so creators and sponsors need to check the rules that apply to the audience they reach and the service where the promotion appears.
