A current Google Play listing still describes the app as offering points and rewards, but the original point rates, reward thresholds and expiry rule should be treated as launch terms—not confirmed current rules.
When did A&W Rewards launch?
A&W Food Services of Canada announced A&W Rewards on April 23, 2025. The company’s Q2 2025 results identify April 22, 2025, as the program’s go-live date and say offers, discounts and free rewards were available through its mobile app. A&W’s launch announcement and its Q2 2025 results establish the announcement and start dates, respectively.
How did members earn points at launch?
The April 2025 launch terms offered two ways to earn: place an order in the A&W app, or scan the unique QR code in the app when ordering in a restaurant. Existing A&W app users could use their account to join; new mobile guests could download the app and create an account. A&W’s launch announcement describes these enrollment and earning methods.
Launch earning rate and eligible spending
A&W announced a rate of 10 points per eligible $1. Points were calculated on the order subtotal after discounts and other offer redemptions; taxes and fees were excluded. Purchases made through third-party platforms were also excluded. These are the terms A&W announced at launch, not verified current terms. See the launch announcement.

Do A&W Rewards points expire?
A&W’s 2025 launch announcement said points expire 12 months after the calendar month in which they were earned. That statement describes the rule announced at launch. The available current app listing does not specify an expiry period, so check the live program terms in the app before relying on that timeline. Launch terms; current Google Play listing.

Yes. The A&W Canada Google Play listing, updated August 19, 2026, continues to describe collecting points and redeeming them for free menu items and exclusive offers. It says guests can be rewarded in restaurants, when ordering ahead on mobile, or with A&W Delivery. This confirms the app listing still presents Rewards as available, but does not verify that every launch rule or reward remains unchanged. View the A&W Canada app listing on Google Play.
