Use a dedicated number your business controls, can verify by SMS or automated voice call, and can keep active. Hostinger lists three options: an additional mobile line, a landline that receives calls directly, or a virtual business number that you have confirmed works with WhatsApp verification. Avoid temporary or shared numbers, and disconnect the number from any existing WhatsApp account or provider before connecting it to Reach.
Choose a number you can verify and keep
The important requirement is reliable, exclusive access to the number—not a particular handset or SIM format. Hostinger says the device does not need to stay connected after setup, but the number should remain active and recoverable in case you need another verification code. Hostinger’s phone-number guide describes these options:

Do not use a public, temporary, disposable, or shared SMS-receiving number. It may already be linked to a WhatsApp account, fail to receive a verification code, or become inaccessible later.
Check Reach and Meta requirements before connecting
A suitable phone number is only one prerequisite. Hostinger’s current Reach connection instructions say WhatsApp campaigns require a paid Reach 1000 plan or higher and Meta Embedded Signup. The person completing signup needs administrator access to the relevant Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account.

- The number must not be active in the WhatsApp consumer app or WhatsApp Business app.
- Disconnect it from any previous WhatsApp provider before trying to connect it to Reach.
- Have your business display name, website, and matching business details ready. Meta may request business verification.
- Reach’s initial release supports one WhatsApp Business Account and one dedicated number per Reach account.
Connect the number in Hostinger Reach
- Confirm that your Reach subscription is paid and is Reach 1000 or higher under Hostinger’s current instructions.
- Prepare the dedicated number. Check that it is clear of existing WhatsApp accounts or providers and that you can receive its verification code.
- Sign in to the Facebook profile that administers the intended Meta Business Portfolio and WhatsApp Business Account.
- In Reach, start the WhatsApp connection and complete Meta Embedded Signup. Choose or create the relevant business assets, add the number, receive the SMS or voice code, and finish Meta’s remaining steps.
- After connection, create a marketing template and submit it for Meta approval before using it in a campaign.
Reach’s initial release sends WhatsApp campaigns as one-off “Send now” campaigns; scheduling is not available. It also does not include a shared WhatsApp reply inbox or automatic replies. Provide another support contact in your messages if recipients need a way to reach your business.
Meet the consent, country, and template rules
Reach tracks WhatsApp consent separately from other subscription status. Only contacts with recorded or confirmed WhatsApp consent and supported phone numbers are eligible. You can collect a number and WhatsApp opt-in checkbox on a form. If consent was collected elsewhere, confirm it and document that it is valid. Hostinger says it does not determine whether your consent process is legally sufficient. See its current WhatsApp campaign instructions for the product workflow.

Hostinger’s current help page says US phone numbers are excluded because Meta does not allow marketing messages to those numbers. Eligibility can change, so check the current Reach and Meta rules for the recipient’s country before preparing a campaign.

Understand how campaign credits are charged
Reach estimates campaign cost based on eligible contacts and their destination countries. At send time, it reserves estimated credits, then charges only for contacts whose message status is Delivered or Read; unused reservations are released, and failed or undelivered messages are not charged under the process described by Hostinger. Because destination affects the estimate, there is no universal per-message price.
Hostinger’s current help page says a successful WhatsApp connection makes 300 welcome credits available. They are nonrefundable and expire after 30 days under standard Unified Credits terms. How many messages the credits cover depends on recipients’ destinations, so they may not be enough for a full campaign. Check the current offer and terms when connecting.
