The HONOR X9d is the stronger-on-paper upgrade: HONOR Malaysia lists a larger battery, higher peak display brightness, a newer chipset and more extensive durability ratings than the X9c. Both models are listed with 66W wired charging, a 108MP main camera and a 16MP selfie camera. HONOR announced the X9d in Malaysia from RM1,499 in October 2025, but the available information does not establish a current, like-for-like price difference against the X9c.
HONOR X9c vs X9d: key specifications

Battery capacity and charging
HONOR lists the X9d at 8300mAh typical capacity and separately gives 8100mAh as its rated capacity; the X9c is listed at 6600mAh. Both support up to 66W wired charging. The X9d moves from the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. HONOR reports 29% higher GPU performance and 11% higher CPU performance versus the previous generation. Those are HONOR’s claims, not independent benchmark findings, so they should not be treated as guaranteed gains in every app or workload.
Durability claims
HONOR lists IP69K, IP68 and IP66 ratings for the X9d, while the X9c is listed at IP64. The X9d also carries an “up to 2.5m” drop claim, compared with “up to 2m” for the X9c. HONOR specifies smooth granite for its X9d lab drop test. These ratings and drop figures describe controlled tests; neither phone is damage-proof. HONOR also warns that water and dust protection can decline with wear and is not permanent.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which phone should you choose?
Choose the X9d if
- You prioritize the larger listed battery capacity.
- You want the newer listed chipset, while recognizing that HONOR’s performance comparisons are vendor claims.
- You value the higher peak-brightness rating or the X9d’s more extensive listed water and dust ratings.
- You want reverse charging.
Consider the X9c if
- It is materially cheaper than the X9d in a current local offer.
- You do not need the X9d’s listed battery, chipset, display-brightness and durability upgrades.
- The exact regional configuration and warranty suit your needs.
For a fair purchase comparison, check the current price and storage first, then weigh battery and charging, durability needs, outdoor screen use, performance requirements and camera samples. No current X9d price premium over the X9c is established by the Malaysian launch figure alone.
