The right Hisense XR10 alternative depends less on a single brightness number than on where the projector can sit, how large an image you want, and what you can spend. The XR10 is the flexibility-and-brightness candidate; Epson’s EH-LS12000B is a better fit to investigate for a fixed, long-throw theater installation. Hisense’s PX4-PRO has been announced, but its retail availability and price are not established here.
Quick comparison: which projector fits your room?
| Model | Published light output | Throw ratio and zoom | Lens shift | Published image size | Price and availability context | Source region |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hisense XR10 | 6,000 ANSI lumens, claimed by Hisense | 0.84–2.0:1; 2.38× optical zoom | ±130% vertical / ±46% horizontal | 65–300 inches on Hisense’s US shop listing | Hisense’s US shop displayed $5,499.99 sale / $6,999.99 regular and marked it sold out when accessed 2026-10-04; check the live listing | Hisense Finland specifications and Hisense US shop |
| Epson EH-LS12000B | 2,700 lumens, listed by Epson for both color and white light output | 1.35–2.84:1; 1–2.1× optical zoom; Epson specifies 3.0–6.3 m for a 100-inch 16:9 image | Powered ±96.3% vertical / ±47.1% horizontal | 50–300 inches | Price and stock not stated on the cited specification page | Epson Australia |
| Hisense PX4-PRO | 3,500 ANSI lumens, stated by Hisense in its CES 2026 announcement | Not stated in the cited announcement | Not stated in the cited announcement | Up to 200 inches, stated by Hisense | Retail availability and price not established by the cited announcement | Hisense USA CES 2026 announcement |
These are company-published specifications, not results from a common independent test. In particular, do not read the XR10’s 6,000 ANSI lumens and Epson’s 2,700 lumens as a controlled, like-for-like picture-quality comparison. See Hisense’s XR10 specifications, the Hisense US shop listing, Epson Australia’s EH-LS12000B specifications, and Hisense USA’s CES 2026 projector announcement.
Measure the room before choosing a model
Throw ratio describes the relationship between lens-to-screen distance and image width. As a first-pass estimate, multiply the desired image width by the projector’s throw ratio to calculate the lens distance. Use the screen’s width, not its diagonal: a 100-inch 16:9 screen is about 87 inches wide. Manufacturer calculators and installation manuals should take precedence for a final mount position, since lens position, zoom limits, and measurement conventions can affect the result.
- XR10: Its published 0.84–2.0:1 range allows a wider mix of short and longer placements than the Epson’s listed range. Hisense also claims 2.38× lossless optical zoom and substantial lens shift. Those features make it a candidate when a room’s mounting position is awkward or needs adjustment.
- EH-LS12000B: Epson lists 1.35–2.84:1 and gives 3.0–6.3 m for a 100-inch 16:9 image. That makes it worth considering when the projector has a fixed, relatively long-throw position. Confirm the distance for your exact screen size and local model.
- PX4-PRO: The cited announcement does not provide throw ratio, zoom, or lens-shift specifications, so it is not possible to establish whether it fits a particular room from those details alone.
Optical lens shift moves the image while keeping the projector’s position and image geometry intact within the lens’s adjustment range. Digital keystone correction instead reshapes the image electronically and can reduce usable resolution. Do not treat the two as interchangeable: check the required vertical and horizontal offset against the model’s installation guidance before fixing a mount.

When the XR10 is still the room-fit choice
Hisense describes the XR10 as a 4K RGB triple-laser projector and publishes 6,000 ANSI lumens, 6,000:1 iris contrast, and up to 60,000:1 dynamic contrast. Its listed optics are a 0.84–2.0:1 throw ratio, 2.38× optical zoom, and ±130% vertical / ±46% horizontal lens shift; the US shop lists a 65–300-inch image range. Treat all of those as manufacturer claims rather than independently verified measurements.
The XR10 is the most relevant candidate here if you need its combination of placement flexibility, a very large projected image, and high published light output. That does not establish it as the best choice for every room, especially a dedicated dark theater: the cited sources do not provide a controlled head-to-head assessment against all alternatives.

Its US shop price and stock can change. When accessed on 2026-10-04, the listing showed $5,499.99 on sale against a $6,999.99 regular price and marked the model sold out. Treat those as a time-specific listing, not a dependable current quote. Tom’s Guide’s XR10 review provides separate review coverage, but its price context should not be substituted for a live local offer.
Why consider Epson’s EH-LS12000B for a long-throw theater?
The EH-LS12000B is a different installation proposition, not a direct XR10 specification twin. Epson Australia lists a laser diode light source, 3LCD projection system, 4K enhancement, HDR10/HDR10+/HLG, and 2,700 lumens of both color and white light output. Its powered lens shift is ±96.3% vertically and ±47.1% horizontally, with 1–2.1× optical zoom.

Its longer published throw range may suit a room where the mount is already set well back from the screen. The 100-inch 16:9 distance Epson gives—3.0–6.3 m—offers a concrete planning reference, but verify your exact setup rather than assuming that one screen-size example covers every installation. Epson’s page is Australian; check local model suffix, warranty, retail availability, and specifications before buying.
The lumen figures cannot settle which projector will look brighter in your room: Epson’s 2,700-lumen specification and Hisense’s 6,000-ANSI-lumen claim are not presented as results from one shared test protocol. Room light, screen size, screen material, image mode, and the exact setup also matter.

What is established about Hisense’s PX4-PRO?
Hisense USA’s CES 2026 page announces the PX4-PRO as a 4K projector with 3,500 ANSI lumens, images up to 200 inches, IMAX Enhanced certification, and ultra-low latency. That makes it a possible alternative to watch, but an announcement is not confirmation of a product available to buy. The cited source does not establish a retail price, current stock, throw ratio, or lens shift, so it cannot yet be matched confidently to a particular room or budget.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can a lower-priced Hisense model replace the XR10?
Hisense’s US shop related-products area displayed the M2 Pro at $1,299.99, C2 Pro at $1,699.99, and PX3-PRO at $2,999.99 when accessed. Those are volatile displayed prices, and the cited page does not establish current stock or provide the detailed specifications needed to compare these models fairly with the XR10. They are names to investigate—not evidence for a ranked budget shortlist. Check each model’s current local listing, installation range, and warranty before treating it as an alternative.

Use this checklist before you shortlist
- Room light: Decide whether the projector will be used with lights on or in a darkened room. Do not select solely by comparing company-published lumen numbers.
- Screen size and format: Record the target diagonal and aspect ratio, then use the screen’s actual width for an initial throw-distance check.
- Lens-to-screen distance: Measure from the planned lens position, not the back of the projector, and verify the allowable range with the manufacturer’s installation information.
- Mounting offset: Check how far the image must move vertically or horizontally, and whether optical lens shift can accommodate it without relying on digital correction.
- Local sale details: Confirm the exact model name and suffix, current price, stock, regional warranty, and return policy with a local seller.
- Connections and use: Verify the inputs and HDR or gaming capabilities you need for your sources; do not infer them from a 4K label or a general announcement.
- Screen and sound: Decide whether the room needs a separate projection screen and how audio will be delivered. The cited product sources do not establish a suitable screen or sound setup for your room.
