The 2025 Hisense U75QG is a bright, feature-rich Mini-LED TV with unusually broad gaming connectivity, but its high peak brightness does not guarantee accurate HDR, clean motion or a reflection-free picture. It is most compelling for viewers who sit fairly centered, want a bright image and can get a strong size-specific price. Treat its motion and HDR accuracy as meaningful compromises, and do not assume every 55-inch unit has the same panel.

What the U75QG is—and where it sits in the lineup

The U75QG is a North American 2025 midrange model in Hisense’s ULED lineup. RTINGS places it above the U6QF and below the U8QG and U9QG; it replaced the U7N. As of 2026, RTINGS reports that the newer U7SG has replaced the U75QG, so this is no longer the latest generation. That makes current, size-specific pricing particularly important when comparing it with newer sets. RTINGS’ U75QG review

Core features

Hisense describes the set as a 4K Google TV with MiniLED Pro backlighting and QLED color. Its 100-inch product page advertises up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. The manufacturer also lists Game Mode Ultra up to 165 Hz, 48–165 Hz VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Low Latency Mode, a Game Bar and a 2.1.2-channel speaker system. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent test results for every size. Hisense’s 100-inch U75QG product page

How bright is the U75QG, and is it good in a bright room?

Brightness is a major strength. Tom’s Guide measured its 65-inch test sample at 2,220 nits in SDR and 3,338 nits in HDR, both at a 10% window, using its stated test setup. It also measured 9.8 ms input latency. These are results for that 65-inch unit under the publication’s test conditions, not guaranteed performance for every screen size. Tom’s Guide’s U75QG review

Powered by the Hisense proprietary chipset, Hi-View AI Engine Pro automatically optimizes the picture and sound based on the content you are watching. This intelligent feature detects, analyzes and adjusts the details, depth and appearance of everything you watch or play, making every visual even more realistic
  • NATIVE 165HZ PANEL WITH GAME BOOSTER 288: Turbo power your gaming! The Native 165Hz Panel has a Variable Refresh Rate of 48Hz to 165Hz, almost as fast as your reaction time. And with our new Game Bar you can control multiple game settings right from your TV remote and on-screen display
  • ENHANCED GAME BAR: Enjoy your gaming dashboard and manage performance in real time. Seamlessly adjust settings and monitor gameplay data as you play. Lead the moment. Play to win
  • ANTI-REFLECTION PRO: Keep your eye on the ball all day and all night long. Anti-Reflection Pro incorporates a special coating into the liquid crystal layer of the screen to minimize glare and reflections, so you can see the picture in all of its vibrancy and detail without any interference

That output gives the TV headroom for bright rooms and punchy highlights, but it does not make the screen immune to reflections. RTINGS reports that reflections remain visible, particularly in dark scenes. If a window or lamp is opposite the screen, the room’s direct reflections may matter more than a high peak-brightness figure. RTINGS’ U75QG review

How good is its picture for movies and HDR?

RTINGS reports deep blacks and vivid HDR color, with local dimming helping create contrast. But it also finds poor HDR PQ EOTF tracking: the set can render scenes brighter than the mastering intent. Its out-of-box HDR accuracy is imperfect, and bright objects or subtitles can show small halos. Peak brightness is therefore not the same thing as faithful reproduction of a film’s intended brightness and contrast. RTINGS’ U75QG review

The measured color results from Tom’s Guide add context rather than a universal verdict: on its 65-inch sample it reported Delta-E 2.8, 99.58% Rec. 709 coverage, 94.9% UHDA-P3 coverage and 76.19% Rec. 2020 coverage. These figures describe that review’s measurements and should not be treated as guarantees for every size or picture mode. Tom’s Guide’s U75QG review

Which size has a VA or ADS Pro panel?

There is no confirmed size-by-size panel map in the available evidence. RTINGS reports seeing both VA and ADS Pro examples among 55-inch units, and says Hisense has not confirmed exact panel types by size. In RTINGS’ assessment, ADS Pro versions have lower contrast but wider viewing angles than VA versions. Do not assume that a specific 55-inch listing—or every unit of another size—uses one panel type without confirmation for that exact unit.

RTINGS reports the following dimming-zone counts from its review, which are its reported measurements rather than manufacturer specifications:

Screen size RTINGS-reported dimming zones
55 inches 1,260
65 inches 1,800
75 inches 2,340
85 inches 2,940
100 inches 2,304

RTINGS purchased and tested a 65-inch unit and says its findings also apply to the 55-, 75- and 85-inch versions, but it does not extend that claim to the 100-inch model. Its review notes that the exact panel type remains uncertain for most sizes. RTINGS’ U75QG review

Is the U75QG good for gaming?

It has extensive gaming features. RTINGS reports that all four HDMI ports have full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and can support up to 4K at 165 Hz or 1080p at 288 Hz. Hisense lists 48–165 Hz VRR, FreeSync Premium Pro, ALLM and a Game Bar. TechRadar’s specifications table lists refresh up to 144 Hz, while its review also discusses 165 Hz support. These figures refer to differing published descriptions; check the manual for your exact size and device before relying on a particular signal mode. RTINGS · TechRadar

The low measured input latency is useful for responsive control, but it does not settle the question of motion clarity. RTINGS characterizes pixel transitions as very slow, Tom’s Guide observed some trailing at high refresh rates, and TechRadar reports smearing when VRR is enabled. Players sensitive to blur or trailing—especially in fast competitive games—should weigh those findings alongside refresh-rate support and latency rather than treating a high Hz number as a guarantee of crisp motion.

RTINGS also reports an ATSC 3.0 tuner, a benefit for viewers who use over-the-air broadcasts in areas where compatible signals are available. RTINGS’ U75QG review

Will it work for a wide seating layout?

Not ideally if viewers sit far off-center. RTINGS reports a narrow viewing angle and image degradation at aggressive angles. That matters for a large living room where people watch from the ends of a sofa or from side chairs. Because panel type may vary, do not assume the wider-angle behavior associated with ADS Pro will apply to the particular unit you buy.

How is the built-in sound?

Tom’s Guide found the speakers serviceable but lacking clarity and refinement. The built-in 2.1.2-channel description is a manufacturer specification, not proof that dialogue will sound clear in every room. If dialogue intelligibility or fuller sound is important, an eARC-compatible soundbar is a reasonable optional category to consider; no specific model is validated by these findings. Tom’s Guide

Which U75QG size should you consider?

The evidence does not establish that one screen size is the best value or has identical performance to another. Use the room and seating distance to choose the size, then compare the exact model number and live price. The size-specific zone counts above are RTINGS-reported figures; the 100-inch model is outside the size range covered by RTINGS’ stated test-result applicability.

How does it compare with alternatives?

The closest comparisons named in the available reviews are TCL’s QM7K and Hisense’s U8QG and U7N. Tom’s Guide found its 65-inch U75QG sample brighter in SDR and HDR and lower in input latency than its QM7K comparison sample, while some color-accuracy and color-volume comparisons were less favorable to the Hisense. That is a comparison between those review samples and test conditions, not a permanent ranking or a claim about current prices. Tom’s Guide

In practice, compare a candidate set on the traits that matter to your room and use: direct reflections, HDR tone mapping, motion clarity with VRR, seating angle, number of HDMI 2.1 devices and the current price of the exact size. The U75QG’s four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports are especially convenient when several gaming devices need to stay connected.

Should you buy the Hisense U75QG?

Consider it if you want a very bright picture, strong black levels, numerous gaming connections and a good discount on the specific size you need. Look elsewhere if faithful HDR tone mapping, clear fast motion with VRR, wide off-axis viewing or polished built-in sound are priorities. Since the U75QG has been superseded by the U7SG according to RTINGS, compare current size-specific prices and availability rather than relying on its 2025 launch positioning.
