In India, GTA 6 costs ₹5,999 for Standard Edition and ₹7,499 for Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation and Xbox stores. PlayStation charges when you pre-order; Microsoft may wait until about 10 days before launch to charge a card. The most important buying risks are different refund and region-code rules: an imported PlayStation code may not redeem on an Indian account, while Xbox codes are not region-locked. The boxed Standard Edition contains a download code—not a disc—and the game is scheduled to unlock at around 12:00 AM IST on 19 November 2026.
What should you know before pre-ordering GTA 6 in India?
GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026. The India store listings price Standard Edition at ₹5,999 and Ultimate Edition at ₹7,499; the Ultimate Edition Upgrade is listed separately at ₹1,500. These are the India store prices reported in the October 2026 available data, current to November 2026. No PC, PS4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch 2 launch date is listed by Rockstar.
Before you pay, check four things: buy from the store or retailer for your country, confirm your platform and account, understand when the charge and refund deadlines apply, and make sure you can download the game. A physical box does not spare you the download: it contains a code, not a disc. Rockstar says preloads begin at local midnight on 12 November, which is 12:00 AM IST that day.
What is the GTA 6 price in India, and what do the editions include?
Standard is ₹5,999 and Ultimate is ₹7,499 on the India PlayStation and Xbox stores. Ultimate costs ₹1,500 more; a separate ₹1,500 Ultimate Edition Upgrade is also listed for buyers who start with Standard. Prices and store offers can change, so verify the final amount and eligibility on your platform’s India storefront before confirming.

Standard includes the full game. Rockstar describes Ultimate’s additional items as bonuses threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story, including vehicles, weapons and weapon variants, clothing and styles, shops and other in-game locations. The official list includes the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, Vice City Styles, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, the Shitzu Squalo, the ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage, and additional customisation and location items.
Reporting about whether Ultimate adds separate missions conflicts. Rockstar’s published item list is the safer basis for a purchase decision; do not assume that the upgrade provides story missions unavailable in Standard. If you mainly want the complete game, Standard is the lower-cost choice. If you value the listed extra digital content, Ultimate costs ₹1,500 more. Since the upgrade is sold separately, a Standard buyer can decide later without cancelling and buying the game again.

Where can you pre-order GTA 6 in India?
Use the PlayStation Store India or Xbox/Microsoft Store India for a digital purchase, or buy a boxed Standard code from a local retailer and check that retailer’s stock, delivery date and return conditions. India appears on the official PlayStation and Xbox country lists. It is not on Rockstar Store’s listed countries, so the Rockstar Store is not the official India storefront for this purchase.
- On PS5: open PlayStation Store, search for GTA 6, select Standard or Ultimate, review the account and price, then complete checkout.
- On Xbox Series X|S: open the Xbox Store, search for GTA 6, choose an edition and purchase it using your Microsoft account.
- For a boxed copy: check that the listing is for the India-compatible PlayStation or Xbox version you need, and confirm the seller’s delivery and cancellation terms before paying.
You need an internet connection, an account for the relevant platform, sufficient compatible storage and a payment method. Digital checkout is reported by Indian press to accept saved cards, UPI or store-wallet balance. Sony and Microsoft’s official India pages do not enumerate UPI as a guaranteed payment method, so treat availability as dependent on the checkout options shown to your account.
Rockstar directs buyers with purchase, refund or delivery questions about non-Rockstar-Store purchases to the retailer. For a physical order, the retailer—not Rockstar—sets the cancellation, shipping and return process. Be cautious of unofficial code listings: an incorrect region can make a PlayStation code unusable, and bonus eligibility may differ.

When will you be charged for a GTA 6 pre-order?
PlayStation Store India says payment is required immediately, while Microsoft says that a payment method other than Microsoft account balance may be charged up to 10 days before release. That difference affects both your cash flow and when to watch for a failed payment or a refund request.
- PlayStation: PlayStation Support India says it charges your wallet or payment method when you select Pre-order. Make sure the intended payment method has enough funds at checkout.
- Xbox: Microsoft charges account balance immediately. If you use another payment option, it may collect payment up to 10 days before launch—around 9 November for the scheduled 19 November release. Keep the card valid and funds available. Microsoft says it retries a failed collection twice before cancelling the pre-order.
- Physical retailer: payment timing depends on the seller’s terms. Check whether the retailer charges at order, dispatch or another point.
A digital pre-order is not a promise that every bonus offer has identical terms across stores. Read the offer text on the specific listing and save the order confirmation so you can check what was included.
Can you pay for GTA 6 with UPI?
Indian gaming-press reporting says UPI can be used at PlayStation and Xbox India digital checkout, alongside saved cards and store-wallet balance. The official Sony and Microsoft India materials do not confirm UPI as a universally available payment rail, so check the payment options displayed in your own account before relying on it.
If UPI is not shown, use another payment method the store accepts or add funds to the relevant platform wallet using an available India payment option. For Xbox, remember that a wallet balance may be charged immediately even when another payment method could be collected closer to launch.

Will an imported GTA 6 PlayStation code work on an Indian account?
Not necessarily—and most of the common imported regions listed by Rockstar will not redeem on an Indian PlayStation account. Rockstar’s rule is that the game’s region must match the region of the platform account. India belongs to Rockstar’s “Rest of EMEA and Asia” PlayStation group.
Rockstar lists India in that group alongside countries including Australia, France, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa and the Netherlands. Codes from the United States or Canada, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia or the UAE, and Rockstar’s separate Rest of Asia group—including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Taiwan—are not the Indian account group. Brazil, Latin America, Korea and Japan are also separate groups. A Japanese product code has an additional stated expiry: 170 days after 19 November 2026.
For PlayStation, the safest choice is an India-store purchase or a code explicitly intended for the same account region. The console’s hardware region does not override the PlayStation account region. A lower price on an overseas code is no bargain if the account cannot redeem it.

Rockstar says Xbox codes are not region-locked. It nevertheless recommends buying from a retailer in the country of your platform account to avoid potential activation problems. That is a less restrictive code rule than PlayStation’s regional grouping, not a reason to ignore seller reliability or bonus terms.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Does the boxed GTA 6 copy include a disc?
No. Rockstar says the physical Standard Edition box contains a code to redeem for the digital download; it does not include a disc. There is no physical Ultimate Edition listed. Physical copies are scheduled to be available from 12 November so that buyers can redeem the code and preload, but delivery timing depends on the retailer.
The box may be convenient as a gift before its code is redeemed, but it is not an offline backup and does not avoid downloading the full game. If the parcel arrives late, you will still need to redeem the code and download the game during launch week. Once redeemed, the code is tied to the relevant PlayStation or Xbox account. For a return, an unopened and unredeemed box is the cleanest case; the retailer’s own terms govern whether it accepts the return.
When does GTA 6 preload start in India, and what time does it unlock?
Rockstar says preload begins at local midnight on 12 November 2026. In India that is 12:00 AM IST on 12 November—18:30 UTC on 11 November. Rockstar says digital pre-orders and redeemed physical codes can preload so players can prepare for launch.
The India PlayStation listing timestamp converts to an unlock around 12:00 AM IST on Thursday, 19 November (18:30 UTC on 18 November). Xbox’s India listing displays 18 November because it uses the UTC calendar date; Rockstar’s consumer-facing launch date remains 19 November. Xbox’s general guidance says games are usually playable shortly after midnight local time on the release date, but Rockstar has not separately published an Xbox-specific IST unlock minute. Treat the PlayStation timestamp as the clearest India-specific listing time, not a guarantee that every platform unlocks at precisely the same minute.
Recommended Free Tools
Rockstar has not published an official download-size figure in the store listings or support information cited in the available data. Do not plan around a guessed number. Clear adequate space before preload opens and check the game listing or console storage screen for the actual requirement once it is available. PS5 games cannot be played from USB extended storage; Xbox Series X|S Optimized games belong on the internal drive or a Storage Expansion Card. Leave room for updates as well as the initial download.
For context only, GamingNation reported Ookla’s September 2026 India median speeds as 63.96 Mbps for fixed broadband and 126.92 Mbps for mobile. Those are second-hand figures and do not predict an individual household’s download time; Wi-Fi quality, network congestion, service-provider limits and the eventual download size all matter.

Can you cancel a GTA 6 pre-order and get a refund?
Usually, but the deadline and conditions depend on the store—and on whether downloading has started. For an India PlayStation account, use PlayStation Support India’s pre-order guidance first; Microsoft directs Xbox buyers to their Microsoft order history. Physical orders follow the retailer’s policy.
PlayStation Store
PlayStation Support India says you can cancel and request a refund before release if you change your mind. After release, it says a refund request is possible within 14 days of the pre-order if the content has not started downloading. The India support guidance should be treated as the relevant starting point for an Indian account.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThere is an important practical risk: the more detailed PlayStation Store cancellation policy published for the US explicitly counts pre-loading as starting a download. That US wording is not a substitute for Indian terms, but it shows why a buyer who might cancel should not assume a preloaded game remains refundable. For a June–October pre-order, treat the time before preload begins at local midnight on 12 November as the safe cancellation window, and contact PlayStation Support promptly rather than waiting for launch.
If you may cancel, disable automatic downloads and avoid leaving the console set to download while you are away. On PS5, check Settings → Saved Data and Game/App Settings → Automatic Updates; also review whether the console can stay connected to the internet in Rest Mode. If you claimed the included GTA+ month, cancelling the game does not itself cancel that subscription. Turn off auto-renew separately under Settings → Users and Accounts → Account → Payment and Subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Xbox / Microsoft Store
To cancel, open your Microsoft account order history at account.microsoft.com and select the pre-order. Microsoft says that if you cancel after billing but before release, it processes the cancellation as a refund. Once the game is released, a refund is case-by-case through Microsoft’s digital-game refund process; do not assume that the same pre-release rule still applies.
Physical retailer
For a boxed code, cancellation before shipment and returns after delivery depend on the retailer. Rockstar says non-Rockstar-Store purchase, refund and delivery questions should go to the retailer. Rockstar Store’s physical cancellation process is not a practical India option because India is absent from its listed countries; its terms also make cancellation dependent on the box not having shipped.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Available information does not establish whether Indian consumer law creates an additional refund right after a digital preload begins. Do not rely on an assumed statutory cooling-off period: check the platform’s current India terms and ask its support team about your specific order.

Which pre-order bonuses apply in India?
The Vintage Vice City Pack and the one-month GTA+ offer have different eligibility wording across Rockstar’s announcement and the India store listings. Check the exact listing for the edition and platform you are buying rather than assuming every boxed or digital purchase gets both.
- Vintage Vice City Pack: Rockstar says pre-orders and purchases before 20 November receive the pack, which includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. The India store listing’s cutoff wording is more specific: PlayStation says by 19 November; Xbox says before 19 November 2026 at 23:59:59.
- One month of GTA+: PlayStation Store India says a digital Standard or Ultimate purchase by 19 November qualifies, with the subscription claimed by 31 March 2027. It says the membership continues until cancelled; the Ultimate Edition Upgrade is not eligible for that offer. Xbox Store India says the month must be redeemed within 180 days of placing the pre-order and excludes child accounts with age-restricted-content blocks; it also limits redemption to one per platform account.
- Physical Standard: Indian reporting says the boxed pre-order includes the Vintage Vice City Pack but not the GTA+ month, which the store listings describe as a digital offer. Confirm the retailer’s exact terms.
Rockstar’s announcement describes a broader before-20-November window for the Vintage pack, while platform listings use their own dates and terms. When the cutoffs differ, rely on the offer shown by the store processing your order and keep the confirmation. Buying on or after 20 November is reported not to include either pre-order bonus, although Ultimate’s edition-specific items remain part of Ultimate.
Is the Rockstar Store available for GTA 6 pre-orders in India?
India does not appear on Rockstar Store’s published country list, so Indian buyers should use the PlayStation Store India, Xbox/Microsoft Store India or a local retailer instead. Rockstar’s support information says purchase, refund and delivery questions for other storefronts should be directed to the retailer that handled the order.
This matters especially for physical delivery: a listing on a global store does not establish India shipping availability, local taxes or a delivery date. Rockstar Store also warns that additional duties and taxes may be imposed by local authorities outside the US and UK. Do not treat a foreign storefront or an imported code as an India order with the same region and return protections.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy GTA 6 on PC in India at launch?
Rockstar’s launch platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and no PC release date is listed. Treat PC pre-order offers as unofficial unless Rockstar announces a PC version through its own channels.
Can I play GTA 6 from an external USB drive?
A PS5 game cannot be played from USB extended storage, so it needs compatible console storage. Xbox Series X|S Optimized games need the internal drive or a Storage Expansion Card.
Will cancelling my GTA 6 pre-order also cancel GTA+?
No. The PlayStation Store says the included GTA+ subscription continues until cancelled, so manage its auto-renewal separately in your PlayStation subscription settings.
