There is no GTA VI game edition called the Collector’s Edition in Rockstar’s announced lineup. The game editions are Standard ($79.99) and Ultimate ($99.99); Rockstar’s separate The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a $399.99 merchandise box, and it does not include the game. These are announced or listed U.S. prices as of October 3, 2026, before applicable taxes and shipping.
Which GTA VI purchases are actually available?
Rockstar and Take-Two distinguish between two game editions and a separate collector box. The names matter: Ultimate is the upgraded game edition, while the Vice City Collection is merchandise you can buy separately.
| Purchase | U.S. price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | Grand Theft Auto VI |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | Grand Theft Auto VI and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade |
| The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection | $399.99 | 11 physical collectibles; game sold separately |
Take-Two announced the two game prices, and Rockstar lists the collector box price. The box plus Standard game would total $479.98 before tax, shipping, or other charges, using those prices. It is not a $399.99 alternative game edition. Rockstar’s edition and format details; Take-Two’s announcement; Rockstar Store listing.

What does the Ultimate Edition add?
Ultimate costs $20 more than Standard in the announced U.S. pricing. Its upgrade is in-game content, which Rockstar describes as premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded through Jason and Lucia’s story. The support listing names:
#1 Best Overall
- Grand Theft Auto III: It all starts in Liberty City
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: Welcome to the 1980s
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Five years ago, Carl 'CJ' Johnson escaped the haze of Los Santos, San Andreas...a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs, and corruption.
- ’95 Grotti Cheetah; Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers; Personalized Weapon Variants; Vice City Styles.
- Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles; Ganado Retro Build; Rideout Customs Mod Shop; Sara’s Unisex Salon; Shitzu Squalo.
- Stock 305 Clothing Store; ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage; Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor; One-Eyed Willie’s Mod Shop.

Rockstar says new items are uncovered behind each chapter. The published description names the items, but does not establish a monetary value for them or say that they change the game’s overall story. Standard owners can also purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront after redeeming their game code, so the choice need not be final at initial purchase. What is in the $399.99 collector box?
The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection contains 11 physical items, inspired by Leonida’s fictional Macca the Gator show:

The Rockstar Store lists dimensions of 19 × 13.5 × 12.5 inches and says the box is not eligible for free shipping. Rockstar describes it as an adult collectible, not a toy; shipping charges and delivery availability can vary at checkout. Rockstar’s announcement explicitly says the game is sold separately. The official listing describes the objects and their price, but does not establish a resale or comparative value for them. Rockstar Store product listing; Rockstar Newswire announcement.

Take-Two announced GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a scheduled launch date of November 19, 2026. Rockstar says qualifying pre-orders and purchases of either edition before November 20, 2026 include the Vintage Vice City Pack. Its listed contents are a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. These bonuses are not exclusive to Ultimate. Take-Two also says digital pre-orders include one month of GTA+. Check the applicable store’s terms and cutoff time, which may depend on local conditions. The physical game version is a download code in a box, not a disc. Rockstar says physical copies are expected to be available for shipping and pickup beginning November 12, 2026, to support pre-loading. If you want a disc, do not assume the boxed physical version provides one. Rockstar Support’s format details.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which option makes sense for you?
- Choose Standard if your priority is getting the game for the lower announced price and you do not yet know whether you want the Ultimate extras.
- Choose Ultimate if the specifically listed in-game vehicles, weapons, apparel, and other upgrade content appeal to you enough to pay $20 more. Standard buyers can decide later by purchasing the upgrade through the relevant console storefront.
- Consider the Vice City Collection separately if you want its 11 named physical collectibles. Budget for the game separately and account for shipping; the box is not a bundle that includes GTA VI.
These choices answer different questions: Standard and Ultimate are ways to buy the game, while the collector box is merchandise. The listed contents let you judge personal appeal, but do not establish that the box or upgrade is worth the price for every buyer.
