Grinn’s ReneSOM-V2H is a system-on-module built around Renesas’s RZ/V2H vision AI processor. Announced March 2, 2026, it is an embedded compute module for product teams developing systems such as smart cameras, industrial vision equipment, and robotics—not a finished camera or consumer AI device.
What is the Grinn ReneSOM-V2H?
The ReneSOM-V2H packages processing, AI acceleration, connectivity, and interfaces on a module intended for integration into a larger product. Grinn says this pre-integrated approach can reduce the compute-module design work product developers must do themselves. The finished system still needs an appropriate carrier board, cameras or other peripherals, software, and product-level engineering.

Grinn describes the module as production-ready and positions it for image recognition, smart cameras, robotics, IoT, and industrial automation. Its launch announcement also names industrial inspection, autonomous systems, and smart infrastructure. These are vendor-stated target uses, not independently validated deployments or performance findings. Grinn’s March 2, 2026 announcement
What processor and AI capability does it offer?
According to Grinn’s product specifications, the module uses Renesas’s RZ/V2H MPU, with four Arm Cortex-A55 cores, two Cortex-R8 cores, and one Cortex-M33 core. Grinn lists a DRP-AI3 accelerator rated at 8 TOPS/dense.

That TOPS figure is an accelerator specification, not a forecast of application speed or accuracy. Real results depend on the model, software, data, and system configuration; the available product information does not provide independent benchmarks.
How many cameras and what interfaces can it support?
Grinn lists four MIPI-CSI inputs, plus MIPI-DSI output, four-lane PCIe Gen3, USB 3.2, USB 2.0, and Gigabit Ethernet. The processor is described as capable of handling up to four cameras simultaneously, but that does not guarantee four-camera operation in every product. Sensor choice, carrier-board routing, bandwidth, software, and workload affect what a particular design can support.
The interfaces make multi-camera and high-throughput vision designs plausible applications, but the number of usable cameras and overall system capability must be confirmed against the intended configuration and documentation.
What are the module’s size, power, and temperature specifications?
Grinn gives the module’s dimensions as 37 mm × 42.6 mm, identifies its form factor as a custom LGA, specifies a single 5 V supply, and lists an operating temperature range of −40°C to 85°C. These are manufacturer specifications; they do not by themselves establish the environmental rating or power needs of a complete product.
The launch announcement also describes 260-pin SO-DIMM compatibility. Because Grinn calls the form factor custom, that wording should not be read as confirmation that the module is a standard drop-in SO-DIMM. Check the datasheet, pinout, and carrier-board requirements before designing around mechanical or electrical compatibility.

Grinn says using the module could reduce development time by up to 12 months. That is a company claim: the announcement does not provide a controlled study, sample, or methodology, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed schedule saving. The practical value will depend on how closely the module’s interfaces, software, and mechanical requirements fit a product.
Grinn CEO Robert Otręba called it “the smallest solution of its kind.” That is the company’s characterization, not an independently verified comparison with competing modules. No independent benchmark or comparative market data specific to the ReneSOM-V2H is established in the cited product materials.
How can you request or source the ReneSOM-V2H?
Grinn’s product page offers sample and quote requests and names RS, TME, and TOP Electronics as global distributors, with Soyter Components listed for Poland. The cited information does not verify a price, current stock, or lead time. Product teams should ask Grinn or a listed distributor for current commercial terms and confirm module documentation and software support for their intended design.
