For a verified dark-fantasy roguelite you can play now, try Curse of the Dead Gods on PC. It shares GrimKeep’s grim atmosphere and repeated-run structure, but it is real-time action—not a turn-based dice-builder. GrimKeep itself is still upcoming, with the developer currently scheduling it for November 30, 2026, on Steam and PlayStation 5.
What makes a game like GrimKeep?
Resolution Games describes GrimKeep as “a roguelite dice-builder in a nightmare fairytale.” Its defining combination is a bleak fairytale setting and turn-based decisions built around dice, items, and their effects. A recommendation can resemble it in mood without matching its combat or build-crafting mechanics, so those are useful distinctions when choosing what to play.
In GrimKeep, players collect items, roll dice to activate item bonuses and multipliers, and configure dice with effects such as poison, healing, or gold. Tactical choices include defense, stuns, and healing. The PlayStation listing also describes choosing paths on a map, weighing risk and reward at crossroads, and unlocking heroes, items, and encounters. The official site says that unlocks carry between runs, which is why the developer uses “roguelite” rather than strict “roguelike” terminology.
Best verified game to try now: Curse of the Dead Gods
Curse of the Dead Gods is the one released, adjacent game verified here. Its Steam listing identifies it as a single-player action roguelike with dark-fantasy and difficult-game tags. It sends players through a monster-filled temple, where weapons, relics, lethal traps, and curses shape each run.
