Guy Gardner: another possible first choice
DC’s account says Guy would have been selected before Hal if he had been closer to Abin Sur as the alien Lantern was dying. That detail makes Guy a useful way to understand the contingency behind Hal’s selection, rather than treating it as a foregone conclusion. Read DC’s Guy Gardner profile.
Kyle Rayner: a wider path through Lantern history
Kyle is one of DC’s named notable human Lanterns. DC also connects him to the White Lantern role, but that is a later, story-specific development; it does not define every version of the character. Jessica Cruz: a story about fear and agency
DC identifies Jessica as a protector of Sector 2814 and foregrounds her struggle to overcome fear. Her history also includes an earlier connection to the Ring of Volthoom. Is one Green Lantern the strongest?
There is no neutral, stable ranking established by the character profiles cited here. DC has published an expressly opinionated argument for Kyle Rayner’s strength; that is a perspective, not a settled measurement of every Lantern across continuities.
