What are the Gothic 1 Remake system requirements?

These figures are from the Steam/Valve listing, which is the source for the game’s published PC requirements. THQ Nordic announced the PC release for June 5, 2026, alongside versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The storage guidance changes too. At minimum, Steam says an SSD or better NVMe disk is needed; the recommended tier specifically recommends NVMe. Both tiers list 60 GB of available space. If every item meets or exceeds the minimum entries, your PC matches the published minimum specification on paper. That is the most responsible answer the requirements alone can give. It is not confirmation of how the game will perform on your exact system, especially if it differs from the listed parts.
How do I check my PC’s CPU, RAM, GPU, and storage?
You can gather most of the information in Windows before buying or installing the game. Menu labels can vary slightly between Windows versions and system configurations, but these built-in screens are useful starting points.

What graphics card do you need for Gothic 1 Remake?

The same caution applies to laptop graphics. A laptop with a GPU name that resembles a desktop model is not automatically a match: the listing does not specify laptop variants or validate them separately. Look up the exact GPU in the laptop’s system information and do not assume that a shared-memory figure satisfies the listed VRAM amount.
How much RAM and storage do you need?
The minimum is 16 GB of system RAM, and the recommended amount is 32 GB. RAM is the computer’s working memory, while VRAM is memory on the graphics card; the requirements list them separately because they are not interchangeable. A PC with 32 GB of system RAM but a GPU below the minimum VRAM entry still falls short of the graphics requirement.

Steam lists 60 GB of available storage for both tiers. It also says an SSD or better NVMe disk is needed and recommends NVMe. In practical terms, check both capacity and drive type: a drive with ample free space but only HDD storage does not align with the stated requirement. The listing does not specify an SSD brand, capacity beyond the game-space figure, interface generation, or a separate amount of update headroom, so those details should not be inferred from the requirement.
If your PC has an HDD-only game drive, an SSD is the most directly supported storage upgrade to investigate. Moving a game to an SSD addresses the published drive requirement, but it is not a promise of a particular frame-rate increase. Is an RTX 2070 enough?

No. The Steam listing specifies hardware tiers, but it does not state an FPS target, resolution, graphics preset, or ray-tracing result for them. The listed requirements therefore cannot support a claim such as “60 FPS at 1440p” or a prediction that a given card will run a particular preset.
That distinction matters when deciding whether to upgrade. Minimum specifications identify a baseline configuration, while recommended specifications indicate a higher listed hardware tier; neither is a substitute for a benchmark under defined settings. Until performance figures for a specific configuration are available from a reliable source, use the table to assess requirement fit rather than to forecast gameplay smoothness.
Does the PC release context affect these requirements?
THQ Nordic announced the PC release on June 5, 2026, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. The publisher says the remake was rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 while aiming to retain the atmosphere, story, and tone of the original.
