Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 offer a broad set of features, Qi wireless case charging and four eartip sizes, with manufacturer-rated battery life of up to 8 hours with ANC or 30 hours including the case. Their main drawbacks are that those figures are approximate, fit is personal, and full feature access depends on Android and other requirements. They can pair with iPhones and other Bluetooth devices, but they are not waterproof.

What are the main advantages?
A broad feature set for everyday listening
Google lists active noise cancellation (ANC), Transparency mode, Conversation Detection, active in-ear pressure relief, capacitive tap and swipe controls, and in-ear detection. Google’s 2024 launch announcement also describes multipoint switching. Those features give buyers several ways to manage listening without taking the earbuds out, although the list alone does not establish how well ANC, calls or sound compare with rival earbuds in independent testing.
Wireless charging and flexible fit adjustments
The case charges over USB-C or with a Qi-certified wireless charger. Google lists a Qi charger as compatible charging equipment; it is not listed among the included items, so plan on supplying one if you want wireless charging. The box includes extra-small, small, medium and large eartips. Google also describes a twist-adjust stabilizer intended to help secure the buds.
These are useful adjustment options, not proof of universal comfort. Google says the Pro 2 are 24% lighter and 27% smaller than the original Pixel Buds Pro, but that is Google’s comparison, not an independent fit assessment. Ear shape and personal preference still determine whether the fit works for you.

New features have been announced through software updates
Google announced Adaptive Audio and Loud Noise Protection in August 2025. On August 12, 2026, Google announced Dynamic ANC, Gemini audio controls, Pixel Watch sleep sync and an Olive finish, with software updates set to begin rolling out in September 2026. Google describes Dynamic ANC as adjusting to compensate for subtle changes in the earbud seal. These announcements do not guarantee that every feature is available to every owner: access can depend on device, account, language, country and rollout timing.

These are Google’s approximate figures on its US product specifications page, accessed October 4, 2026. Google says its listening-time estimates are based on controlled music playback with pre-production hardware and software. Actual runtime can be lower, and using other features reduces battery life. Treat the numbers as an upper-end manufacturer rating rather than a promise of what you will get on a typical day.

Compatibility: do they work with iPhone?
Yes. Google says Pixel Buds Pro 2 can pair over Bluetooth 4.0 or newer with iOS and Android devices, as well as tablets and laptops. Pairing does not mean every feature works on every platform. Google says full access requires a Google Account, an internet connection and a companion phone running Android 6.0 or later; individual features can have narrower device, account, language or country requirements.
Spatial audio with head tracking has additional documented device and content requirements. If a particular smart or spatial-audio feature is central to your purchase, check its eligibility for your phone and region rather than assuming Bluetooth compatibility includes it.

Water resistance: are Pixel Buds Pro 2 waterproof?
No. Google rates the earbuds IP54 and the charging case IPX4, but explicitly says the product is not waterproof. Water resistance can diminish over time or after damage. Google advises drying the devices after liquid exposure; do not treat the ratings as permission to submerge them or use them as waterproof gear.

They are most compelling on paper for people who use Android or Pixel devices and want compact earbuds with ANC, multiple listening controls, wireless case charging and several tip sizes to try. They are a less straightforward choice if you rely on full feature access from an iPhone, need guaranteed all-day runtime, or cannot test the fit before committing. Google’s US Store listed a $229 price when its specifications page was accessed October 4, 2026; that is a list price, not evidence of the lowest current retail price. The available product evidence here is manufacturer material, not independent comparative testing, so it cannot establish whether these outperform alternatives on ANC, sound, microphone quality or comfort.
