The Google Pixel 11 Pro is a capable, feature-rich phone, but it is not an automatic upgrade or an obvious value at its $1,099 US starting price. Its strongest attractions are Google’s camera and Gemini features, a bright 6.3-inch display, Qi2.2 wireless charging and seven years of advertised updates. The main cautions are a higher entry price than the Pixel 10 Pro, 12GB of RAM in the base model, and benchmark results that trail the Samsung Galaxy S26 in TechRadar’s comparisons. It makes the most sense for owners of older phones who want Google’s software and camera experience; recent Pixel owners and performance-focused buyers have stronger reasons to wait or compare.
Verdict: Is the Pixel 11 Pro worth buying?
It can be worth buying if you want a compact flagship centered on Google’s camera tools, Gemini features and long software support. TechRadar’s reviewer found daily performance reliable and reported a full day of battery life in their use. But the review does not show a major generational leap: many of the new features are software-based, the reviewer’s benchmark comparisons favored the Samsung Galaxy S26, and the base model has less RAM than the prior Pro generation.
The Pixel 11 Pro is available, with Google announcing retail availability from August 20, 2026. Google’s August 25 update listed a US starting price of $1,099. The question is less whether the phone is capable than whether its specific strengths justify its price for you.
What changed from the Pixel 10 Pro?
Google’s main upgrades are a new main camera sensor, an upgraded telephoto camera, the Tensor G6 chip, new camera and AI features, Qi2.2 charging and built-in Pixelsnap magnets. The 6.3-inch Super Actua display remains a key part of the Pro’s appeal. Google also advertises seven years of operating-system, security and Pixel Drop updates.
#1 Best Overall
- Attention-grabbing design meets the latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera on the new Google Pixel 11 Pro; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can live in the moment[1]; and the phone is available in two sizes
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Magic Capture catches the moment as you live it: With just one tap, Pixel 11 Pro captures video and photos, and automatically edits, crops, and unblurs a curated collection, ready to share – and you get the memory of how it felt to be in the moment
- Two new cameras for more brilliant photos: A larger telephoto sensor captures 30% more light for clear, beautiful photos and videos, even in the dark[3]; Pixel’s longest zoom ever helps you capture details from impressive distances[4]
The price and memory configuration complicate the generational upgrade. TechRadar reports that the Pixel 11 Pro’s entry price rose by $100 in the US, £80 in the UK and AU$150 in Australia compared with the Pixel 10 Pro. Base storage doubled, but base RAM fell from 16GB to 12GB. Those figures describe the configurations and prices cited by TechRadar; check current prices and the precise regional SKU before buying.
How good are the cameras and new features?
Camera hardware and zoom
Google says the upgraded 48MP telephoto camera has 30% more light sensitivity than its predecessor and adds Portrait Mode at 5x and Pro Zoom up to 120x. It also claims Night Sight captures up to 4.5 times faster. These are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements in the cited review evidence. Specifications alone cannot establish detail, color, motion handling or usable image quality at extreme zoom or in low light; those judgments require comparable photo samples.
The Associated Press describes Magic Capture as automatically taking a series of photos and video with one shutter tap. That could help capture an unfolding moment without repeated taps, but its usefulness depends on how well the resulting selections match what you wanted to preserve.

Display, HiLight and Pixelsnap
The Pro has a 6.3-inch Super Actua display. Google lists peak brightness up to 3,600 nits and calls it the brightest Super Actua display it has made; it also describes a new anti-scratch coating. Treat those as Google’s specifications and claims rather than independently verified brightness or durability results.
Google says HiLight uses colored LEDs around the camera flash to indicate Gemini activity and incoming calls while the phone is face down. Selected-contact message notifications are described as future capabilities, not as features established as available at launch. Built-in Pixelsnap magnets and Qi2.2 support add compatibility with the magnetic accessory system; Google advertises wireless charging up to 25W.
Performance: smooth in use, not the benchmark leader
Google calls Tensor G6 its fastest and most powerful chip to date and says it runs the latest Gemini Nano model. Compared with Tensor G5 at launch, Google claims 25% faster web browsing, 15% quicker app launches and up to 3.5 times faster on-device AI tasks while using up to 3.5 times less energy. These are Google’s comparisons, not independent benchmark results.

TechRadar’s reviewer reports reliable everyday performance but says the Samsung Galaxy S26 outperformed the Pixel 11 Pro in the Geekbench 6 and 3DMark comparisons cited in the review. The reviewer tested a 512GB model with 16GB of RAM, so their firsthand experience does not establish how the 12GB base configuration performs, including its AI memory optimization. Buyers focused on demanding games or maximum benchmark performance should compare devices in person and review like-for-like tests rather than infer performance from Google’s claims.

Battery life and charging in the review
TechRadar’s reviewer says the phone lasted a full day in their use, including days with heavy streaming or gaming, and was charged overnight. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a promise of the same endurance for every person, network, setting or workload.
In the reviewer’s charging test with a 45W adapter, Extreme Charging Mode brought the battery to 25% after 15 minutes and to 100% in under 90 minutes. With that mode off, the test reached 24% after 15 minutes and full charge in 1 hour 45 minutes. The reviewer also reports 25W wireless charging with Qi2.2. These results are tied to the reviewer’s stated setup; charging time can vary with conditions and equipment.

Price and configurations
TechRadar lists the 256GB model with 12GB RAM at $1,099 in the US, £1,079 in the UK and AU$1,849 in Australia. It reports higher prices for 512GB configurations; its specifications section also lists 1TB, but regional availability of that tier should be confirmed rather than assumed. The reviewer’s tested model was the 512GB/16GB configuration.

Consider the Pixel 11 Pro if
- You have an older phone, particularly a Pixel older than the Pixel 9, and want a substantial modern hardware and software refresh.
- You specifically want Google’s Gemini experience and camera features, and those matter more to you than leading benchmark performance.
- You value the 6.3-inch form factor, Qi2.2/Pixelsnap compatibility and Google’s advertised seven-year update commitment.
Compare alternatives or keep your current phone if
- You own a recent Pixel, especially a Pixel 10 Pro: the reviewer found the new model’s advances limited, and the prior model may be a better value if its current price is discounted.
- You prioritize raw performance: TechRadar’s cited Geekbench 6 and 3DMark comparisons favored the Samsung Galaxy S26.
- You want the best value at a given price: weigh the Pixel 11 Pro’s increased entry price against doubled base storage, reduced base RAM and the current price of the Pixel 10 Pro.
- You need evidence of superior low-light or extreme-zoom image quality: Google’s specifications and claims do not replace direct comparisons of real photos and video.
TechRadar’s review recommends considering the phone for owners of older Pixels and people who want Google’s Gemini experience, while steering performance-focused shoppers elsewhere. Its assessment is a useful guide, not a universal ranking: your current phone, priorities and local prices determine whether the trade-offs make sense.
