There is no single winner across these phone families: Google’s current US Pixel A option is the Pixel 10a, while Samsung’s 2026 Galaxy A lineup ranges from the lower-cost A17 and A27 to the more directly comparable A37 and A57. Choose by price, size, storage, charging, and update policy—not by camera megapixel counts alone. This comparison uses manufacturer specifications and US prices listed when checked; it is not a hands-on test.
Which phones are actually being compared?
Google’s US Store lists the Pixel 10a at $599 at the time of comparison. Samsung’s US lineup lists four 2026 Galaxy A phones, with starting prices before eligible trade-in of $199.99 for A17, $349.99 for A27, $449.99 for A37, and $549.99 for A57. The prices are live, US-specific listings rather than fixed prices; check the price, storage configuration, and trade-in terms for your market before buying. See Google’s Pixel 10a specifications and Samsung’s US Galaxy A lineup.
| Model | US starting price listed | Screen | Storage and expansion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Pixel 10a | $599 (Google US listing) | 6.3-inch pOLED, 60–120Hz | 128GB or 256GB; no card slot listed |
| Samsung Galaxy A17 5G | $199.99 (Samsung US listing, before eligible trade-in) | 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 90Hz | 128GB; microSD up to 2TB |
| Samsung Galaxy A27 5G | $349.99 (Samsung US listing, before eligible trade-in) | 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz | 128GB; microSD up to 2TB |
| Samsung Galaxy A37 5G | $449.99 (Samsung US listing, before eligible trade-in) | 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, 120Hz | 128GB or 256GB; no microSD |
| Samsung Galaxy A57 5G | $549.99 (Samsung US listing, before eligible trade-in) | 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus, 120Hz | 128GB or 256GB; no microSD |

Which one fits your budget?
Choose an A17 or A27 if the lowest listed price matters
At the listed US starting prices, both are substantially below the Pixel 10a. The A17 starts at $199.99 and the A27 at $349.99, compared with the Pixel at $599. That price gap is the clearest reason to consider these Samsung models, but it does not establish equivalent performance or camera quality. Compare the exact storage SKU and current sale price, and account for whether you need to buy a microSD card.

Compare Pixel 10a with A37 or A57 for a closer price bracket
The A37 and A57 start closer to the Pixel’s listed price: $449.99 and $549.99. The A57 is $49.01 below the Pixel’s $599 listed price, while the A37 is $149.01 below it, using these US listings. A trade-in, promotion, or different storage variant can change the actual gap. Do not assume the closest prices make these phones equivalent in size or features.
Do you want a smaller screen or a bigger one?
The Pixel 10a has a listed 6.3-inch display. Every Samsung 2026 A model in this comparison has a 6.7-inch display. That makes the Pixel the more compact screen choice on paper; the diagonal alone does not establish how comfortable either phone feels in one hand, since overall dimensions and personal grip matter too.

Samsung’s listed screen refresh rates vary: the A17 is 90Hz, and the A27, A37, and A57 are 120Hz. The Pixel is listed at 60–120Hz. These are manufacturer specifications, not a side-by-side assessment of perceived smoothness.
How do storage and charging compare?
Storage
The A17 and A27 support microSD cards up to 2TB, according to Samsung’s US support comparison. The A37 and A57 do not support microSD. Google lists the Pixel 10a in 128GB and 256GB configurations without a card slot in its specification list. If you keep large offline libraries of photos, video, or downloads, expandable storage may make the lower Samsung tiers more practical; confirm that the app or files you care about can use card storage.

Wired and wireless charging
Google lists Qi-certified wireless charging for the Pixel 10a. Samsung says wireless charging is unsupported on the A17, A27, A37, and A57. For wired charging, Samsung lists up to 25W for A17/A27 and up to 45W for A37/A57. Google says the Pixel can reach 50% in about 30 minutes with a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. That is Google’s stated condition, not a result for every charger; the Pixel box lists a USB-C cable and SIM tool, but not a charging adapter. Check the charger’s PPS support and local plug if you want that stated charging rate.
Which has the longer stated software support?
Google lists seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates for Pixel 10a. Samsung’s March 25, 2026 announcement promises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for the A57 and A37. Samsung’s announcement qualifies availability and timing by model and market, so the commitment should not be read as a guarantee that every device in every region receives every update on the same schedule. Samsung’s stated commitment for A17 and A27 is not established by the cited announcement. Read Samsung’s A57/A37 launch announcement alongside Google’s specification page when update longevity is a deciding factor.

What do the camera specifications tell you?
The Pixel 10a lists a 48MP wide and 13MP ultrawide rear system, plus a 13MP front camera. Samsung lists a 50MP main and 5MP macro camera for both A37 and A57; the A37 adds an 8MP ultrawide, while the A57 has a 12MP ultrawide. These configurations describe lenses and resolution, not which phone takes better pictures. No independent side-by-side image-quality test is established here, so choose based on the camera modes and lens types you use, then look for a credible comparison of the exact models if photo quality is your top priority.
What else is worth checking before you buy?
- Battery: Google lists a typical 5,100mAh battery for Pixel 10a. Samsung lists 5,000mAh batteries across these four A models. Capacity figures alone do not establish which lasts longer in real use.
- Durability: Google lists IP68 dust and water resistance for Pixel 10a. Samsung’s global A57/A37 announcement also describes IP68 for those two models; the cited evidence does not establish the same rating for A17 or A27.
- Network compatibility: Google lists multiple Pixel 10a network models for different bands. Check the exact regional SKU and carrier compatibility before purchase; availability and bands are market-dependent.
- Availability: Samsung said A57 and A37 would be available from April 10, 2026, in select markets. That launch-period statement is not proof of current stock in your location.
How should you choose?
- Choose the Pixel 10a if you prefer the smaller listed screen, Qi wireless charging, and Google’s stated seven-year update coverage—and you are comfortable with its listed price and fixed internal storage.
- Choose the Galaxy A17 or A27 if a lower listed starting price and microSD expansion matter most. Their screens are larger, and neither supports wireless charging.
- Compare the Galaxy A37 if you want Samsung’s 6.7-inch 120Hz display and up to 45W wired charging at a lower listed starting price than Pixel 10a, while accepting no microSD or wireless charging.
- Compare the Galaxy A57 if you want Samsung’s top listed A-series tier here, with a 6.7-inch AMOLED Plus screen, 12MP ultrawide, and up to 45W wired charging. Its listed starting price is near the Pixel’s, and it lacks wireless charging and microSD.
For camera quality, battery life, gaming, or speed, these manufacturer specifications are not enough to declare a winner. Those decisions call for credible tests of the exact models and regional configurations you are considering.
