It can help keep electrical domains separate without giving up the data performance an application needs. Analog Devices identifies its ADN4624 as a gigaspeed LVDS isolator and describes it as enabling isolation for protocols including HDMI at 1080p and MIPI CSI-2; those are vendor claims, not independent system-test results.
What “gigaspeed isolation” means
Galvanic isolation separates two electrical domains while allowing information to pass between them. The isolation barrier helps prevent a direct conductive connection, while the isolator transfers the signal across that barrier. In high-speed differential isolation, the design must preserve data signaling and timing as well as provide the required electrical separation.
“Gigaspeed” is descriptive wording for a high-performance application class, not a formal standards category established by the sources cited here. The phrase is most relevant when a design needs to isolate a fast differential interface such as LVDS; it should not be treated as a synonym for every digital isolator.
What the ADN4624 example supports
Analog Devices’ High Voltage Noise Robust Isolation Platform, dated February 11, 2025, describes the ADN4624 as a gigaspeed LVDS isolator and a key enabler for isolating protocols such as HDMI at 1080p and MIPI CSI-2. This establishes the vendor’s intended application framing; it does not, by itself, provide independent validation of a complete HDMI or MIPI system or all the electrical limits needed to design one.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For circuit designers, the practical takeaway is to treat the ADN4624 as a component candidate for an isolated LVDS signal path, then verify the current manufacturer datasheet against the exact interface, timing, isolation, and system requirements. The device is an integrated circuit, not a ready-to-use consumer appliance.
Where high-speed differential isolation is useful
Healthcare imaging
Analog Devices’ September 10, 2024 EngineerZone article describes isolated LVDS in digital healthcare imaging. The 2025 Analog Devices platform page likewise names high-resolution imaging protocols as an application context. These descriptions indicate possible design uses, not quantified adoption or measured clinical outcomes.

Instrumentation and measurement
Isolation can be relevant when channels or measurements need to remain electrically separated. The EngineerZone article discusses channel-to-channel isolation for instrumentation, while an EE Times webinar notice highlights floating measurements, power analyzers, and isolated instrumentation as motivating examples. The notice, published March 27, 2025, advertised an event for April 30, 2025; it is application context rather than a test report.
Industrial systems
Industrial data planes may need both noise robustness and isolation around high-voltage equipment. The EE Times notice frames gigabit differential isolation around those concerns, and Analog Devices’ platform page positions its solution for high-voltage, noise-robust applications. The specific suitability of any device still depends on the system environment and applicable safety requirements.

How to choose an isolator for a high-speed link
- Match the interface and data rate. Confirm whether the design uses LVDS or another interface, the required data rate, and the relevant signal timing. Do not assume a general-purpose digital isolator can carry a gigabit LVDS link.
- Define the isolation and safety requirements. Identify the required isolation type and applicable certification, working conditions, and system-level safety constraints. A headline isolation-voltage rating alone is not enough: package, standard, and operating conditions matter.
- Check signal integrity and noise needs. Verify the timing and signal-quality limits against the real design, including the expected noise environment. Vendor application descriptions are not substitutes for the device datasheet or system validation.
- Confirm channel configuration and integration. Check channel count, directionality, logic levels, and the way the isolator fits the surrounding circuit. A device with more channels is not necessarily suitable for a faster interface.
- Plan isolated power. The isolated signal path also needs an appropriate power solution. Analog Devices’ EngineerZone article explicitly notes that designers must select an isolated power solution to accompany the isolator.
- Review qualification and system conditions. Confirm that the chosen component is appropriate for the intended environment and design qualification. The cited sources do not provide a common-condition quantitative comparison among the ADN4624, ISOFACE devices, and ISO776x.
Why a general-purpose digital isolator may not be equivalent
Different isolators address different signal classes. Infineon describes its ISOFACE digital isolators as using coreless-transformer technology, with applications such as gate-signal transfer and isolation for UART, CAN, and SPI. Its listed markets include industrial automation, telecom and servers, solar and energy storage, motor control, and EV charging. That is useful context for adjacent isolation needs, but it is not evidence that those devices are gigabit LVDS alternatives.
Texas Instruments’ ISO776x offers a separate illustration of the difference between channel count, safety insulation, and throughput. Its January 2024 revision H datasheet specifies a 100 Mbps data rate and six channels. It gives UL 1577 isolation ratings of up to 5000 VRMS for the DW package and 3000 VRMS for the DBQ package. Those figures apply to the cited ISO776x family and packages; they do not describe the ADN4624 and do not make the ISO776x a direct substitute for a gigaspeed LVDS isolator.

What to verify before committing a design
- Use the current manufacturer datasheet for the exact part and package; confirm data rate, timing, channel configuration, isolation ratings, and qualification details there.
- Check that the interface is supported at the required operating conditions rather than inferring compatibility from an application example.
- Validate the isolated power design and the signal path together in the intended system.
- Keep component-level isolation ratings distinct from the isolation performance and safety of the completed equipment.
