For alerts about Xbox trailers and video announcements, subscribe to the official Xbox YouTube channel, set its bell to All, and allow YouTube notifications on your phone or computer. For written announcements and missed-show catch-up, add Xbox Wire. What do you need before setting up Xbox alerts?

These routes have different trade-offs. Push or browser notifications can bring an update to you, but they depend on platform and device settings and may be missed. Manual checks require more effort, but they are useful backups when an alert does not appear. A newsletter requires less frequent attention, but it is not designed to notify you as soon as a trailer goes live.
How do you get notified about Xbox trailers and video announcements?
Subscribe to Xbox’s official YouTube channel and change the channel bell to All. YouTube says a new subscription starts with Personalized notifications, which may notify only for some uploads or streams.
- Open the official Xbox channel on YouTube. Check that it is the official channel before subscribing.
- Select Subscribe. If you already subscribe, continue to the bell beside the subscription status.
- Select the bell, then choose All. This setting is intended to cover long-form uploads and live streams. YouTube applies qualifications to Shorts, so do not assume the bell means an alert for every type of channel activity.
- Allow notifications on your device. Use the relevant instructions below; an enabled channel bell cannot override notifications blocked by the app, browser, or operating system.
- Use YouTube’s Subscriptions feed as a fallback. If an alert does not appear, check the feed for recent channel uploads rather than assuming no video was published.
YouTube’s guidance is to turn on all notifications if you want a notification for every upload, but that is setup guidance, not a delivery guarantee. YouTube says notifications vary by device and that not every new upload produces one. Its mobile help pages also warn that after a channel has been inactive for a prolonged period, selecting All can still result in an in-app-only notification for that channel.

The bell sets your preference for Xbox channel activity; the app, browser, and device settings determine whether a notification is allowed to reach you through that route. If you have several devices, check the settings on the device where you expect to see the alert. Changing the bell alone does not enable a blocked operating-system notification or browser pop-up.
Choosing All is the broadest channel setting, but it can also mean more notifications than a Personalized setting. That is the coverage-versus-noise choice: All is the appropriate starting point if you want as much Xbox channel activity as YouTube makes eligible for notifications, while Personalized may be quieter but can omit uploads you would have preferred to see. Neither setting guarantees that every upload will reach your device.
On Android
Check both levels of permission:
- In YouTube, open Settings → Notifications and confirm that notifications are enabled.
- In Android, open Settings → Notifications → App notifications, choose YouTube, and allow the notifications you want.
Android labels and menu placement can vary by device and software version. If the channel bell is already set to All but no push appears, check the phone-level app permission as well as YouTube’s own notification setting. The two checks are complementary: the YouTube preference cannot make Android show a notification if the operating system blocks YouTube.
On iPhone
Check YouTube’s notification setting in the app, then open iOS Settings → Notifications → YouTube and allow notifications. If YouTube notifications are disabled at either level, the channel bell alone will not make them appear on the phone.

If alerts are missing, confirm that the YouTube app is permitted to notify you in iOS and that its in-app notification setting is enabled. Then check the Xbox channel bell again. Treat the Subscriptions feed as the practical fallback when the settings appear right but a particular alert still does not arrive.
On a computer
In YouTube, open Settings → Notifications to review desktop and email notification preferences. Desktop pop-ups also depend on the browser’s notification permission, so check that the browser allows YouTube to send them. Menu wording and availability may change, and email or desktop preferences are separate from the channel’s All setting.
Computer notifications are useful if you usually watch or work at a desktop, but they are not the same as a phone push alert. If you expect a pop-up and do not see one, check the browser’s site-notification permission in addition to YouTube’s settings. If you use more than one browser or computer, permissions on one do not automatically establish permissions on the others.
How can you catch written Xbox announcements or a missed trailer?
Check Xbox Wire around a showcase and afterward. Xbox says its showcase coverage includes key articles during the broadcast and a recap afterward; the recap can link directly to individual trailers and game pages.

Event coverage can also vary by broadcast. The June 2026 guide listed YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook, along with regional viewing options. If you miss a push alert, check the Xbox channel’s YouTube Subscriptions feed for videos and Xbox Wire for articles and recap posts. These manual fallbacks are worthwhile because YouTube does not promise that every upload will generate a notification. For a missed showcase, the recap is especially useful: it can gather announcements and provide links to the relevant trailers and game pages in one place.

Xbox advertises mobile-app notifications for new games coming to Game Pass. That can be useful if your main interest is Game Pass arrivals, but Xbox does not describe the feature as a general notification service for every announcement, trailer, or showcase.
If you want these notices, open or install the Xbox mobile app, review its notification settings, and allow app notifications in your device settings. Is there a lower-frequency way to keep up?

Think of the options as layers rather than competing all-purpose services. YouTube is the video-first route and can notify you about channel uploads or streams. Check the feed to confirm whether the video is there; for a showcase, look for Xbox Wire coverage and its recap as well.
