E-Day emphasizes cover, firearms, and squad combat
E-Day is a third-person cover shooter. The Coalition says it was built from scratch while retaining Gears’ identity, with gameplay centered on movement, cover, weapons, and enemies. Its cover system has been rebuilt with more types, heights, and actions. This points to a refreshed take on familiar Gears combat rather than a switch to Wolverine-style melee action. Its announced formats extend beyond the campaign: players can go solo or play together, face PvE survival waves in Horde Siege, or compete in Versus. Console split-screen supports two players; online campaign co-op supports up to four. Xbox says online multiplayer features require a subscription that includes online multiplayer.

Wolverine centers on close-range action and stealth
