Terminator: Survivors is not out yet, and its current plan is for a single-player, full launch rather than co-op or early access. If you want a game to play in the meantime, State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is the clearest match for its scavenging-and-survival loop—but its enemies are zombies, not Skynet machines.
What to expect from Terminator: Survivors
Nacon Studio Milan describes Terminator: Survivors as an open-world game set four years after Judgment Day. Survivors emerge from shelters into a world threatened by Skynet’s machines, including the T-800. The developer’s official game description frames it around exploring the post-apocalyptic setting and confronting those threats.

The latest development plan is different from older descriptions that mentioned co-op. In a December 16, 2025 update, creative director Marco Ponte said the team decided to put aside cooperative multiplayer to focus on shooting and exploration. The update says the game will be single-player, will launch as a complete game rather than in early access, and has no new release date locked in. The PlayStation Store listing likewise gives its release date as to be determined.
The best survival-focused alternative: State of Decay 2
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition is the strongest fit if what you want most is to scavenge, keep a shelter going, and make decisions for a group of survivors. Its official feature and platform page describes a survival game built around scavenging, fragile shelters, community decisions, and changing threats. It supports solo play and co-op for up to four players, and the page lists Steam and Xbox as platforms.

Where the match ends
The settings and enemies are not interchangeable: State of Decay 2 is about surviving a zombie apocalypse, while Terminator: Survivors puts players against Skynet’s machines in the Terminator universe. Choose State of Decay 2 for the community-survival loop or co-op; it is not a substitute for Terminator lore or robotic enemies.

Availability and release timing
Nacon has not announced a replacement release date for Terminator: Survivors, and its December 2025 update does not give a target year. The PlayStation listing’s “release date to be determined” status is consistent with that. For State of Decay 2, the official page identifies Steam and Xbox; platform availability and purchase options can vary by region, so confirm them on the storefront you use.
