If you want an airship that doubles as a mobile base, play Forever Skies. If floating islands, skyship building, and a gentler survival adventure matter more, try Aloft. Both are useful feature matches for ATMOSFAR, not exact substitutes.
What makes ATMOSFAR distinctive?
ATMOSFAR is an open-world, third-person adventure set on Tycos, an alien planet with floating islands and airborne life. Its planned mix brings together exploration in small piloted craft called Wasps, scavenging and converting scrap, resource management, and a buildable mobile airbase called the Cloud Cruiser. It is planned for solo play and online co-op for up to four people. The official site describes the setting and planned release, while the Steam listing provides the current store status.
The official site says the game is planned to enter Early Access during 2026, but it does not give a specific date. Steam currently lists it as “Coming soon.” An earlier Q2 2026 target has passed, so it should not be treated as the current confirmed window. The publisher lists Steam and Epic Games Store; the reviewed official information does not establish a console version. Apog Labs’ FAQ and press kit state that online co-op is planned for up to four players.

Play Forever Skies for the mobile airship and survival loop
Forever Skies is the closer fit if the Cloud Cruiser is what caught your attention. It is a first-person survival game set above a post-apocalyptic Earth, where you build, upgrade, and fly a high-tech airship while scavenging for resources. Its combination of a moving home and survival gathering most directly suits someone searching for a survival crafting game with a mobile base.

The Steam description supports solo play or co-op with up to three friends, for four players total. That matches ATMOSFAR’s stated maximum group size, though the games differ in perspective, setting, and story. See Forever Skies on Steam.
Play Aloft for floating islands and a flying home
Choose Aloft if you are more interested in ATMOSFAR’s islands and skyborne exploration than in a purpose-built airship base. In this co-op survival game, islands can be transformed into flying ships. Exploration and restoring the ecosystem shape its appeal, giving it a gentler feel than Forever Skies.

Aloft is still in Early Access. Steam describes groups of up to eight, so it can accommodate a larger group than ATMOSFAR’s planned four-player co-op. Its island-as-ship construction is also meaningfully different from a mobile airbase with separate aircraft. See Aloft on Steam.

The developers say ATMOSFAR will remain in Early Access for at least nine months, with the period potentially extended as more content is added. That is a developer-stated plan, not a guaranteed end date. The current official release statement gives only the year 2026, and Steam continues to show “Coming soon”; check the Steam page or official site for a dated update.
