The listing for model SM-F976B shows a firmware release dated October 6, 2026, with the October 5, 2026 security patch level.
What Samsung’s official update record confirms
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra firmware listing records a release for model SM-F976B dated October 6, 2026. Its security patch level is 2026-10-05, and the update note says security has been improved. The record is specific to that model variant; it is not evidence that every Fold8 or Fold8 Ultra received the update at the same time.

Are there 79 security improvements?
The official firmware note does not give a count of fixes, vulnerabilities, or other improvements. Samsung’s record therefore does not substantiate the claim that this October update contains 79 security improvements. The figure should not be presented as a confirmed global total without an attributable source.
Counts reported for earlier months do not verify the October claim. SamMobile reported 90 security issues for the September 2026 patch and 56 for the August 2026 patch; those figures refer to those respective updates, not the October release. See SamMobile’s September report and its August report.

Does the update apply globally?
The SM-F976B listing establishes a release for that variant, not a worldwide rollout across every model, country, and carrier. Samsung warns: “The exact changes may differ depending on your device model, country, and service provider.” Its Mobile Security update information likewise cautions that patch details and timing can vary.
To check whether your phone has the update, compare its exact model number and software update information with the listing for your market and service provider. A shared Fold8 product name alone is not enough to establish that another variant has the same firmware, release date, or patch level.
