There is no verified X-T6 specification sheet in the official Fujifilm sources available for this comparison. That means a reliable list of differences—or a fair winner—cannot yet be given. Fujifilm’s November 2022 announcement does provide a detailed baseline for the X-T5: a 40.2MP APS-C camera with in-body stabilization and internal 6.2K video recording. If you need a camera now, judge the X-T5 by those confirmed features and its current local price rather than by unverified X-T6 claims.
What’s different between the Fujifilm X-T6 and X-T5?
At present, the differences are not established by the official Fujifilm sources cited here. Fujifilm’s X System lineup provides context, but the fact that a model is not listed there does not prove that it does not exist. The official information cited for this article verifies the X-T5, not an X-T6 announcement or specification sheet.
Without confirmed X-T6 specifications, it would be misleading to compare resolution, autofocus, stabilization, video modes, controls, or price—or to name one camera the winner. Rumors should not be treated as confirmed product details.
What the official X-T5 specifications establish
Fujifilm announced the X-T5 on November 2, 2022, describing it as a compact, lightweight camera optimized for still photography, including snapshots and documentary, landscape, and portrait work. The specifications below are manufacturer-published claims, not independent comparative test results.

Should you buy the X-T5 or wait for the X-T6?
Buy the X-T5 if you need a camera now
If its confirmed features meet your needs, assess the X-T5 on its own merits. Check current stock and price in your country, and consider whether its still-photography emphasis, 40.2MP sensor, stabilization rating, viewfinder and screen, dual SD slots, and internal 6.2K/30p recording suit your work. Fujifilm described the camera as a companion for a wide variety of photographic genres; that is manufacturer positioning, not an independent assessment.

Wait if the next model’s confirmed changes matter to your decision
If you are choosing specifically between generations, waiting for an official X-T6 announcement and specifications avoids basing a purchase on rumor. No release timing, price, or availability for an X-T6 is established by the cited official material, so there is no verified basis here for estimating how long to wait or whether it will cost more.
