Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →There is no single free tool that improves every part of a website. Choose one by the question you need answered: how your site appears in search, what visitors do, whether pages load quickly, how structured data is marked up, or where accessibility needs attention.
Google and W3C provide useful starting points across those tasks. The directory below groups verified examples by purpose rather than claiming to reproduce a specific 20-plus-tool inventory. Check each official product page for current account requirements, usage limits, and paid options before relying on its access terms.
Start by identifying the website problem
Tools that sound similar can provide very different evidence. A search resource may help you understand site structure or search appearance; analytics measures visitor behavior; a speed diagnostic evaluates page performance; and an accessibility checker helps identify potential barriers. Pick the tool based on the next decision you need to make, not simply because it is labeled an SEO or website tool.
- Search presence or site structure: use search resources and guidance.
- Visitor behavior: use analytics.
- Page speed: use a performance diagnostic.
- Structured data: use markup assistance, then separately check whether the result meets relevant requirements.
- Accessibility: use evaluation tools as one part of a broader review.
Tools grouped by task
Search presence and site structure
Google’s Web Tools overview describes resources intended to help improve a site’s structure, its appearance in search, and user experience. The collection includes items such as the Ad Experience Report and Email Markup Tester. Google also points site owners to its SEO Starter Guide. These are examples from a wider resource set, not confirmation of the contents of any particular 20-plus-tool directory.
#1 Best Overall
Page performance
Google’s PageSpeed Insights information describes the tool as a resource for finding ways to make pages fast on all devices. Use it to investigate page performance and identify possible improvements; it does not guarantee a particular score or automatically make changes to a site.
Traffic and visitor behavior
Google lists Analytics as a way to measure behavior across websites, apps, and devices in its other tools and resources. This is a measurement task: analytics helps you understand behavior, while a page diagnostic checks a page for a particular class of issue. Do not treat behavioral reporting as a substitute for a speed or accessibility evaluation.

Structured data markup
Google’s Structured Data Markup Helper offers a point-and-click way to create structured data for people who are uncomfortable coding. Assistance creating markup is not the same as validating eligibility for a search feature, and it cannot guarantee that a search result will display in a particular way.
Accessibility evaluation
The W3C Web Accessibility Initiative maintains a list of web accessibility evaluation tools. Automated checks can flag issues worth investigating, but a scan alone does not establish that a site is fully accessible or conforms to an accessibility standard. Treat findings as a starting point for evaluation rather than a pass/fail verdict on the whole experience.

How to compare tools before you rely on them
Before adding a tool to your workflow, check what it examines and what you must provide. In particular, distinguish tools that use first-party data from a verified property from tools that assess a submitted public URL, and confirm the scope for each product rather than assuming all tools work the same way.
| Comparison point | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Task | Which specific question does it answer: search appearance, traffic, speed, structured data, accessibility, or another named task? |
| Scope | Does it inspect one URL, an entire site property, or a verified account? Confirm this on the tool’s official page. |
| Evidence | Does it report first-party site data, a live test, a simulated diagnostic, or links and guidance? |
| Access | Is it currently free to use? Does it require an account, impose limits, or offer paid upgrades? Check current official access information. |
| Next action | Does the output identify a possible problem, suggest a fix, or provide ongoing measurement? A report is not itself a fix. |
Google’s search-related resources are separate tools with distinct purposes, rather than one unified dashboard; a review by TechRadar also notes this distinction. Selecting tools by task helps avoid expecting one interface to answer unrelated questions.

A practical way to use the directory
- Name the decision. Write down what you need to learn, such as whether a particular page needs performance work or how visitors use a site.
- Choose the matching category. Start with a tool whose stated purpose aligns with that question.
- Confirm scope and access. Check whether it needs a verified property or accepts a public URL, and review current account requirements and limits.
- Read the result as evidence, not a guarantee. Separate measured behavior, diagnostic findings, suggested changes, and markup assistance.
- Follow up with the right evaluation. Validate a proposed change using a method suited to the original question; for accessibility, do not rely on an automated scan alone.
