Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFor solo play, Genshin Impact is the clearest pick if you want a large world to explore; Zenless Zone Zero fits better if you want urban, mission-based action. Honkai: Star Rail is the space-fantasy choice, but the available platform listing gives less detail for comparing its solo systems. None of these descriptions establishes that a game can be played offline, and “best” depends on the kind of play you enjoy.
Which game should you choose for solo play?
| Game | Best fit | What the listed evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| Genshin Impact | Exploration and a broad fantasy world | PlayStation explicitly says you can travel alone; Xbox lists single-player alongside online multiplayer. |
| Zenless Zone Zero | Urban setting, commissions, and action combat | Official listings describe Hollow exploration and combat built around attacks, dodges, blocks, and combos; Steam labels it single-player. |
| Honkai: Star Rail | Space-fantasy story and travel between worlds | PlayStation describes a journey aboard the Astral Express and marks online play as required; the listing does not establish enough combat detail for a fuller solo comparison. |
These are preference-based recommendations, not a ranking of generosity, playtime, or overall quality. The available listings do not provide comparable figures for free currency, banner odds, or time demands.
Genshin Impact: choose it for roaming and exploration
PlayStation’s Genshin Impact page calls it an open-world adventure and says, “Travel alone or hunt together.” It describes exploring, fighting by yourself or with friends, and using characters’ elemental abilities across seven elements for attacks and puzzles.
Xbox’s listing labels Genshin Impact free-to-play and lists both single-player and online multiplayer for 2–4 players. That supports solo activity, but it is not evidence of offline play. PlayStation Store disclosures also provide online/account context; do not assume the game works without an internet connection.

Pick Genshin if you want to spend your solo time moving through a large fantasy setting, solving environmental puzzles, and developing a party. The platform descriptions support playing alone, not a guarantee that every feature or system is available offline.

Honkai: Star Rail: choose it for a space-fantasy journey
The PlayStation Store listing describes Honkai: Star Rail as a space-fantasy RPG in which you travel across the galaxy aboard the Astral Express, meet companions, visit new worlds, and uncover a story. It also states that online play is required, so solo play should not be confused with offline play.
The listing reviewed does not provide enough detail to compare the game’s full combat loop or multiplayer requirements with the other two. Choose it for the stated inter-world, story-led premise rather than assuming it is more relaxed, more generous, or more solo-friendly.

Steam’s listing labels it single-player and free-to-play, with in-app purchases. It describes a combat loop involving attacks, special attacks, dodges, blocks, and combos, with enemy weaknesses informing battle choices. These descriptions make it the best-supported option here for players who want action-centered missions; they do not establish that its sessions are shorter than those of the other games.

What free-to-play means for spending
The PlayStation Store disclosure for Genshin Impact says the game includes optional in-game purchases of virtual currency that can acquire a random selection of virtual items. “Free-to-play” describes entry, not guaranteed access to every character or a specific amount of free currency.
HoYoverse’s Help Center article, updated August 26, 2025, lists official top-up centers for Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, and advises players to select the correct server and account. If you choose to spend, set a personal limit and check the account and server carefully before using a top-up service.

The platform information supports controller play as an option, not a claim that one is needed for solo enjoyment.
