Its standout feature is screen size—not high-end processing power. A Notebookcheck launch report published October 5, 2026, said international launch details were unknown at the time.
What is the new 16-inch Surface Pro alternative?
Founder’s device is a Windows x86 tablet with a detachable keyboard and stand. Its 16-inch, 16:10 screen is much larger than the displays typically associated with Surface Pro-style detachables, making it notable for people who want more room for documents, split-screen work, or media. The launch report identifies the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Detachable and Asus ProArt PZ14 as other alternatives, but says few competitors are as large as the Founder.
The specifications and China price below come from Alex Alderson’s Notebookcheck launch report, published October 5, 2026, which cited a JD.com listing via ITHome. It is a launch report, not an independent review.
Founder 16-inch 2-in-1 specifications
| Specification | Reported detail |
|---|---|
| Display | 16 inches; 2,560 × 1,600 pixels; 16:10 aspect ratio |
| Brightness, refresh rate, and color coverage | Founder claims 300 nits peak brightness, 60 Hz refresh, and 72% NTSC color coverage; these are not independent measurements in the launch report. |
| Processor | Intel Processor N100, an Alder Lake-N quad-core chip without Hyper-Threading |
| Memory and storage | 16 GB RAM and a 512 GB SSD |
| Battery | 46 Wh (6,000 mAh) |
| Ports | Two USB 3.2 ports—one Type-A and one Type-C—plus microSD and 3.5 mm audio |
| Thickness and weight | Founder reportedly quotes a 12 mm frame and 1.2 kg for the device without its detachable stand and keyboard. |
| China price and included items | CNY 3,999 (approximately US$596), with the detachable stand and keyboard included; MPP 2.0 stylus sold separately. |
How does it compare with a Surface Pro?
The Founder’s 16-inch panel gives it a clear size advantage over the 12-inch Surface Pro comparison cited in the launch report, but the listed display figures also point to a more modest panel. For IPS versions of the original Surface Pro 12-inch, the report gives 2,880 × 1,920 resolution, 120 Hz refresh, and 600 nits brightness. Founder’s claimed figures are 2,560 × 1,600, 60 Hz, and 300 nits peak. The brightness figures are not directly equivalent lab measurements: the Founder figure is a company claim, and the report does not provide independent testing.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Notebookcheck also describes the N100 as slower than the Snapdragon X Plus in the original Surface Pro 12-inch, reporting less than half its performance. The report passage does not explain the benchmark methodology, so treat that as the publication’s comparison rather than a universal performance ratio. The Founder’s 16 GB of RAM does not change the entry-level positioning of its processor.
What does the price include?
The reported CNY 3,999 China listing includes both the detachable stand and keyboard. That makes the quoted price a bundle price, rather than a tablet-only figure. The MPP 2.0 stylus is separate. The approximate US-dollar conversion is the report’s equivalent, not evidence of a US retail price.

Is the Founder 16-inch 2-in-1 available internationally?

Buyers outside China should confirm local stock and service terms before treating the device as an available alternative.

The published specifications do not establish real-world battery life, thermal behavior, fan noise, sustained performance, upgradeability, warranty terms, operating-system edition, exact wireless configuration, or independently tested display quality. The reported 1.2 kg figure excludes the stand and keyboard, so it is not the complete carry weight.
