In Forza Horizon 6, a seasonal Treasure Hunt is a Festival Playlist event: follow the current event clue to locate and smash a treasure chest for its listed rewards. It is not the same activity as finding a Treasure Car, which uses a photo clue to lead you to an abandoned vehicle. Check the current playlist tile for the seasonal hunt’s clue and region; old walkthrough locations expire when the event changes.
First, tell seasonal Treasure Hunts and Treasure Cars apart
Forza Horizon 6 uses similar treasure language for two different activities. A seasonal Treasure Hunt points to a chest connected to a Festival Playlist event. A Treasure Car is an abandoned vehicle found by exploring the map and interpreting a supplied photograph. The distinction matters because the clues, targets, and rewards are different.

For the vehicle activity, Forza’s overview says Mei provides photo clues to abandoned cars. Examples named by the developer include a 1991 Nissan Figaro, a 1985 Nissan Safari Turbo, and a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. Once found, a car can be restored and driven immediately or added to the garage.
How to solve a seasonal Treasure Hunt clue
There is no established universal clue sequence or guaranteed car requirement for every seasonal hunt. Use the live Festival Playlist event prompt and region rather than assuming that a previous event’s route or challenge steps will apply.

- JOIN THE HORIZON COMMUNITY — Race, cruise, and compete with friends in Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, Car Meets, and Horizon multiplayer modes, including Spec Racing Championships.
- Open the current Festival Playlist and select its Treasure Hunt event tile.
- Read the clue and note the named region. Use the region as the search area, not as a permanent chest location.
- Follow the instructions shown for that event, then search the indicated area for the chest.
- Drive into the chest to smash it and trigger the event reward.
- Check the playlist again to confirm the event’s progress or points have registered.
For example, a PC Gamer walkthrough published September 24, 2026 placed that week’s Shimanoyama chest beside a winding snowy road in the south of the region and instructed players to smash it. That is a dated example of a regional search, not a route that should be followed for later playlists. Read the Shimanoyama walkthrough.
What rewards do you get?
Rewards are tied to the particular event, so read the active playlist tile for its current contribution and prizes. In the Shimanoyama Treasure Hunt covered by PC Gamer on September 24, 2026, smashing the chest reportedly awarded 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP, and three Season Progress points. Those figures describe that one event, not a standard reward schedule for every hunt.

Seasonal chest completion is also separate from Treasure Car achievements. The official achievement listing names “A Fine Addition To My Collection” for discovering and claiming one Treasure Car, and “Treasure Hunter” for discovering and claiming nine Treasure Cars. These are vehicle-discovery milestones, not seasonal chest counts.

No. The Xbox Store listing says the optional Treasure Map reveals exact locations of Bonus Boards, Barn Finds, Regional Mascots, Treasure Chests, and Treasure Cars in the main game and expansions once available. It also notes some collectibles unlock through gameplay and may not appear immediately.

But the store listing explicitly warns: “Please note this Treasure Map will not reveal the locations of Seasonal Collectables featured in the Festival Playlist.” That means it is not a shortcut to the current seasonal Treasure Hunt chest. The listing says the add-on requires Forza Horizon 6 or an eligible Game Pass subscription; either is sold separately.
