Fortnite Crew is a subscription bundle, not simply a discounted way to buy 800 V-Bucks. It may suit you if you also want its monthly Crew Pack and access to included passes—and expect to use them.

These are different purchases: V-Bucks give you direct choice over eligible shop items; Crew combines currency with other benefits. Epic lists the current Crew offer on its Fortnite Crew subscription page, and its March 10, 2026 V-Bucks price announcement gives the US currency-pack prices effective March 19, 2026.

Choose based on the skins and extras you actually want
Buy V-Bucks for specific Item Shop skins
If you are saving for a particular shop skin, direct V-Bucks are the straightforward option: buy currency and spend it on the eligible item you choose. You do not need to subscribe to access Crew’s other benefits. Buying currency also makes it easier to set a defined spending limit.
Consider Crew if you will use its bundled benefits
Crew may be worthwhile if you want its monthly Crew Pack and expect to use premium access to the included passes while your subscription is active. Its listed monthly V-Bucks grant is 800, but the rest of the package matters only if those benefits are useful to you. Do not assume that every included reward is worth the subscription price to every player.

Check whether you already receive Crew through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Epic says Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers receive current Crew benefits. Check the terms for your account and region before paying separately, since partner offers can change.
How Battle Pass V-Bucks affect the comparison
The current Override Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and says players can earn up to 800 V-Bucks through progression. That can help a player who buys and completes the pass earn enough for a subsequent 800-V-Buck pass, but it takes progression and does not necessarily provide currency for a particular Item Shop skin. What happens to pass rewards if you cancel Crew?
Epic’s November 20, 2024 announcement says premium rewards already claimed remain yours after cancellation, but an active subscription is required to claim premium rewards from passes included with Crew. The same announcement describes a one-time return of V-Bucks spent on an eligible pass if the player subscribes within 14 days of buying it. Because that detail is from 2024, check the current subscription terms before relying on it. Epic’s announcement is here.

Epic says direct V-Bucks are not giftable in-game. For a physical gift, a Fortnite gift card can add balance to an Epic account and may fund purchases such as V-Bucks or Crew in supported regions. Epic says Fortnite gift cards are available physically and digitally in listed regions and are replacing V-Bucks cards; older V-Bucks cards may still be sold in some stores or regions. Check Epic’s Fortnite gift card information before buying.

- V-Bucks cards can be redeemed only for V-Bucks; a Fortnite gift card adds account balance that can be used for supported purchases.

Make the choice month by month
- List what you want: If it is mainly one or more specific shop skins, price the V-Bucks you need at your local checkout.
- Value Crew’s extras honestly: Count only the Crew Pack and pass access you expect to use during the subscription, not benefits you may leave unclaimed.
- Check existing access: If you have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, verify whether your account currently receives Crew benefits before subscribing separately.
- Account for recurring billing: Crew is listed as a monthly subscription. Review the current cancellation and pass-access terms if you plan to subscribe for only one month.
- Check regional details: Epic’s published US figures are not a guarantee of the price or offer in your region; confirm the local price and current benefits before purchase.
