Fortinet’s Cybersecurity Summit West 2026 was scheduled for September 17, 2026, at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre. Its advertised program connected cyber resilience with critical-infrastructure protection, industrial operations, AI, security operations, cloud security, and IT/OT convergence. Fortinet’s public event materials describe the planned agenda, but do not establish that this article’s author attended or what they personally learned.

What Fortinet advertised for the Calgary summit

Fortinet described Cybersecurity Summit West as an event for cybersecurity executives, technical practitioners, and partners. The September 17, 2026, program was set for the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre and was advertised to include keynotes, role-based tracks, customer stories, demonstrations, solution theaters, and peer networking. Fortinet’s event overview

The listed themes included the future of cybersecurity, the global threat landscape, AI and cybersecurity, technology innovation, Western Canada’s security landscape, operational technology (OT) and critical infrastructure, SecOps, cloud security, and secure access service edge (SASE). These are topics Fortinet said the summit would address—not findings that independently establish which approaches work best.

How resilience appeared in the planned program

Critical infrastructure and industrial operations

The conference-experience page grouped industrial cybersecurity, IT/OT convergence, and critical-infrastructure resilience among its solution-theater subjects. That places protection of industrial and essential services within the event’s advertised resilience conversation. The materials do not provide a specific case study, measured outcome, or speaker quotation that would support a stronger conclusion about what attendees learned on this topic. Security operations, AI, and threat intelligence

Fortinet also listed AI-powered SOC (security operations center) and threat intelligence as short-session subjects, alongside broader themes of AI and cybersecurity and SecOps. These categories point to operational detection and response as part of the intended discussion, but the published agenda does not establish a particular technique’s effectiveness or present summit-specific risk statistics.

Cloud, Zero Trust, and hybrid work

Multi-cloud security, Zero Trust, and secure hybrid work were among the solution-theater topics. They sit alongside the overview’s cloud-security and SASE themes, showing the range of settings the event planned to cover. The event descriptions do not compare these approaches or rank them as resilience strategies.

Formats Fortinet planned for attendees

The published experience page describes a mix of learning and discussion formats rather than a single keynote-only program:

  • Keynotes and role-based tracks: designed for different audiences, including executive, business, technical, and partner participants.
  • Customer stories and demonstrations: included in the advertised conference experience.
  • Solution theaters: described as 15-minute, TED-style sessions covering focused subjects such as industrial cybersecurity, AI-powered SOC, multi-cloud security, and Zero Trust.
  • Peer networking: listed as part of the event experience.

The 15-minute figure describes the advertised session format, not a cybersecurity statistic or a measure of attendee outcomes. Fortinet’s conference-experience page

Who could register, according to Fortinet

Fortinet’s FAQ described the summit as free, private, and open to its customers, prospects, and partners. It also said Fortinet reserved the right to decline or cancel a registration. That is the published access policy, not confirmation that any particular person was admitted or attended. Fortinet’s event FAQ

Do not confuse it with Fortinet’s June Calgary roadshow

Fortinet also listed a separate Calgary Tech Session Roadshow for June 15–16, 2026. That two-day event was distinct from Cybersecurity Summit West, which was scheduled for September 17. The roadshow should not be treated as evidence of the summit’s agenda or as a substitute source for its program. Fortinet’s Calgary roadshow listing

What can—and cannot—be said about what attendees learned

The official event pages support a clear account of what Fortinet planned to discuss: resilience in connection with critical infrastructure and industrial operations, alongside AI, SecOps, cloud security, threat intelligence, and IT/OT convergence. They do not verify personal attendance, session observations, conversations, speaker remarks, or a specific lesson learned by this article’s author. A firsthand account requires independently confirmed notes or other evidence; without that, the accurate report is the advertised program rather than a claim of attendance.
