Fizz Mobile’s 40 GB and 50 GB data options were part of a configurable plan builder described by MobileSyrup on November 8, 2023—not a current $40 all-in plan. At that time, the report listed both data allotments at an additional $24, on top of separately priced plan features. Fizz’s homepage advertised 40 GB for $35 per month on October 4, 2026, so check its live plan builder for today’s price and available options.
What Fizz changed in November 2023
MobileSyrup reported on November 8, 2023, that Fizz customers could build a plan by selecting coverage, calling, texting, voicemail, and data options. The reported starting point was $10 for minimum Quebec coverage. The headline’s “$40” referred to the 40 GB data allotment’s additional $24 price, not a universal monthly total for a completed plan.
The following prices and inclusions are from MobileSyrup’s November 2023 report. They are historical, not current plan terms.
| Plan option | Reported price or inclusion |
|---|---|
| Minimum Quebec coverage | $10 starting price |
| Unlimited texting | Additional $3 |
| Unlimited minutes | Additional $7 |
| Voicemail | Additional $2 |
| Canada-wide data coverage | Additional $4 |
| Canada-and-US data coverage | Additional $8 |
| 1 GB | Additional $3 |
| 3 GB | Additional $4 |
| 5 GB | Additional $6 |
| 7 GB | Additional $7 |
| 9 GB | Additional $9 |
| 12 GB | Additional $11 |
| 25 GB | Additional $13; previously 20 GB |
| 40 GB | Additional $24; labeled “Hot Deal” |
| 50 GB | Additional $24; described as new |
| Call display, call waiting, conference calling, and call forwarding | Included |
Because the report priced data and other features separately, it does not establish one all-in price for every combination. It also mentioned 2023 home-internet tiers—60 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload for $45, 200/30 Mbps for $49, and 400/50 Mbps for $59—but those historical figures are separate from the mobile-plan change.

Compare the completed plan, not just the data headline
A useful comparison with another carrier needs the final monthly price for the same data amount and coverage area. Also check which minutes, texts, and voicemail are included; domestic and US coverage or roaming; promotional duration and eligibility; coverage where you use the phone; handset compatibility; and whether the plan is month-to-month. The available information does not establish a like-for-like current competitor comparison.
