If the same counters are also missing in Performance Monitor or WMI, the issue may instead involve Windows counter-library registration.
Check whether Server Manager collection is off
Server Manager performance-counter collection is off by default. On the All Servers page, find the servers in the Performance tile whose Counter Status is Off. Right-click the relevant entries and select Start Performance Counters. On a role or group page, the same command is available by right-clicking server entries in the Servers tile. See Microsoft’s Server Manager instructions for viewing and configuring performance data.
Starting collection does not guarantee that data appears immediately. Collection time depends in part on how many servers are involved and available network bandwidth. Watch the Counter Status column while collection starts.
Determine whether the problem is limited to Server Manager
Check the affected counter in Performance Monitor (PerfMon) or the relevant WMI performance class. This helps distinguish a Server Manager setting from a problem with Windows counter registration:

- Counter Status is Off in Server Manager, while the counter works elsewhere: start counters in Server Manager as described above.
- The counter is also unavailable in PerfMon or WMI: investigate the Windows counter libraries and provider registration rather than treating the Server Manager switch as the only cause.
Rebuild Windows performance-counter registration if needed
Microsoft documents lodctr /R as a way to rebuild performance counters when counter libraries are corrupted. Use Microsoft’s counter-library rebuild guidance for the Windows version in question; do not assume instructions scoped to an older release apply to every current Windows Server installation.
The rebuild guidance also covers extensible and third-party counters. A general rebuild may not restore every provider: some counters require provider-specific registration steps. If one counter or provider remains missing, identify it before attempting further repair rather than repeating generic commands without checking the applicable guidance.
Microsoft has a separate article for manually rebuilding counters on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2. That legacy procedure is scoped to those releases and should not be treated as universal instructions: Manually Rebuild Performance Counters.
Use WMI resynchronization only for a WMI-related issue
winmgmt /resyncperf registers the computer’s performance libraries with WMI. Microsoft describes it as relevant when performance-monitor classes do not return reliable results; it is not the first fix for a Server Manager entry whose Counter Status is simply Off. Consult the Microsoft winmgmt command reference and the applicable recovery procedure before using it.

Collect these details before deeper troubleshooting
If the supported steps do not restore the counter, record the information needed to narrow the issue to an OS component or provider:
