If an Ultimate Team Squad Building Challenge (SBC) will not submit, first check that the challenge is still active and that your squad meets the requirements shown on that exact challenge. If both checks pass, try submitting the same challenge through another supported surface: the game, EA SPORTS FC Web App, or Companion App. These checks help narrow down the problem, but none guarantees a fix.
Why can’t I submit my SBC?
The most directly supported explanations are that the squad does not meet a displayed requirement or that the challenge has expired. A failure that happens in only one interface is also possible, but reports of that behavior are anecdotal and come from earlier FC versions. EA’s current help material does not establish one universal cause for a failed submission.
- Requirement mismatch: FC 26 SBCs can specify Squad Rating, Chemistry, Player Quality, Leagues, Nations, or Clubs. Check the active challenge’s displayed conditions rather than relying on a remembered solution. EA’s SBC guidance explains requirements.
- Expired challenge: EA says an expired SBC no longer accepts a squad. Check the expiry shown for the specific challenge. EA’s SBC guidance
- Different behavior by submission surface: FC 24-era EA forum reports describe cases where submission failed in one place but worked in another. They do not establish how common this is in FC 26 or identify the cause in your case. One forum thread and another report describe these earlier-version experiences.
- Connection or service issue: EA provides general connection support, but the available official guidance does not show that connectivity causes every SBC submission failure or provide a universal SBC-specific connection fix. See the FC 26 support index.
Messages players report include “Failed to Submit Challenge,” “failed to complete challenge,” “Can’t submit SBC,” and “failed to connect to Ultimate Team.” These are reported phrasings, not a verified, exhaustive list of current FC 26 error messages.
What to check before retrying
Confirm the active challenge’s requirements and expiry
Open the exact SBC and compare the squad against every condition currently displayed. Replace or rebuild only items that fail a stated condition, then review the squad again. Requirements can vary between challenges, and older solution images may no longer match the active SBC. If the challenge has expired, it cannot accept a submission.

Review every item you are about to submit
Check each selected Player Item and the reward before confirming. EA warns that SBC submissions are final: submitted items, including items used for partial progress, are permanently removed from your Club, and EA Advisors cannot restore them. Do not change players or repeat submissions without checking what the revised squad will exchange. EA’s SBC guidance
How to test whether the problem is limited to one interface
Try the same active challenge with the same intended squad on another supported surface. If you are playing in-game, test the EA SPORTS FC Web App or Companion App; if one of those apps fails, try the game. This is a diagnostic, not a guaranteed workaround. The reported cross-surface cases are from FC 24-era forum discussions, so they do not establish FC 26 behavior or platform reliability.

Interpret the result narrowly: if the same challenge and squad submit elsewhere, the failure appears limited to the original surface in that test. If it fails everywhere, that still does not prove a particular account, network, or server cause.

- Record the FC title/version, your platform, the exact SBC name, the exact error text, and when you saw it.
- Note which surfaces you tried—the game, Web App, and/or Companion App—and whether the same challenge and squad worked on any of them.
- Use the FC 26 EA Help support index to find current SBC, connection, Web and Companion App, account, or missing-content support.
This information is practical context for a support request, not an EA-mandated checklist. The available official guidance does not provide a current diagnostic tree for the generic failed-submission message. Avoid treating a soft ban, rate limit, account restriction, duplication conflict, stale squad cache, or server-side bug as confirmed without case-specific evidence. EA’s FC 24 support index links to general connection troubleshooting, but any version- or platform-specific steps should be checked against current FC 26 support information.
