As of October 7, 2026, EA Sports FC 27 ranks first in Alinea Analytics’ reported estimate of 2026 game revenue across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation, at $714.1 million. Resident Evil Requiem is second at $558 million, followed by Forza Horizon 6 at $534.3 million. These are analyst estimates reported by ixbt.games—not audited publisher revenue or a ranking of copies sold—and the order may change before year-end.
What the reported 2026 ranking says
ixbt.games reported the figures below on October 7, attributing them to Alinea Analytics. The reported scope is Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.
| Rank | Game | Estimated revenue |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | EA Sports FC 27 | $714.1 million |
| 2 | Resident Evil Requiem | $558 million |
| 3 | Forza Horizon 6 | $534.3 million |
These values are estimates attributed to Alinea Analytics through a secondary report, rather than figures disclosed in a publisher financial release. The ixbt.games report does not provide the underlying methodology, confidence intervals, platform-by-platform totals, or details on how editions and bundles are treated. Read the amounts as reported estimates, not audited totals. ixbt.games’ October 7 ranking report
Highest-grossing does not mean best-selling
The ranking compares estimated revenue, not the number of copies sold. A game can earn more without selling the most units if its sales mix, pricing, editions, or other revenue components differ. The report does not break down those factors, so it does not establish why FC 27 leads or how many copies any of the three games sold.
#1 Best Overall
That distinction explains why another chart can name a different leader without disproving this one. A Quartz account of Circana’s US year-to-date chart through July puts Resident Evil Requiem first by game sales. That comparison covers the US, ends in July, and tracks sales rather than the reported cross-platform revenue estimate; it is not a like-for-like ranking. Quartz on Circana’s US sales chart
Resident Evil Requiem’s sales milestones are a different measure
Capcom announced that Resident Evil Requiem had passed 6 million worldwide units on March 16, 2026, describing it as the fastest game in the series to reach that milestone. Gematsu later reported Capcom’s announcement that sales had exceeded 8.06 million units by July 28. Those are unit-sales milestones, not revenue figures, and should not be compared directly with the $558 million estimate. Capcom’s March 16 sales announcement · Gematsu’s July 28 report

Capcom says the game launched on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The platform list helps define the game’s release footprint, but it does not establish that every platform is included in Alinea’s reported revenue estimate, whose stated scope is Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation.

The October 7 report explicitly says the ranking is not final. It is a snapshot reported before the year ended, so later releases or updated estimates could alter the order. Treat “FC 27 is the highest-grossing game of 2026” as shorthand for its lead in Alinea Analytics’ reported cross-platform estimate at that date—not a definitive full-year result for every market or platform.

One related figure illustrates why scope matters: PC Gamer reported Alinea Analytics’ estimate of $20.7 million in FC 27 revenue on Steam in September 2026. That is a single platform and month, not the broader cumulative cross-platform amount of $714.1 million. PC Gamer’s report on September Steam revenue
