Yes—a GeForce GTX 1070 is listed by Ubisoft for Far Cry 5 at 4K (2160p), 30 FPS, on the High preset. That is Ubisoft’s 2018 configuration target, not a guarantee of identical performance on every PC. For its separate 4K/60 FPS tier, Ubisoft named GTX 1080 SLI or RX Vega 56 CFX instead.
What are the Far Cry 5 PC system requirements?
Ubisoft published these configurations on January 22, 2018. They distinguish the release-era minimum, a 1080p/60 FPS recommendation, and two 4K targets. The listed GPUs and other parts should be read together with each tier’s resolution, frame rate, and preset.
| Target | GPU | CPU | RAM | OS | Preset |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum: 720p | GeForce GTX 670 or AMD R9 270, 2 GB VRAM | Intel Core i5-2400 at 3.1 GHz or AMD FX-6300 at 3.5 GHz, or equivalent | 8 GB | Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10, 64-bit | Low |
| Recommended: 1080p, 60 FPS | GeForce GTX 970 or AMD R9 290X, 4 GB VRAM | Intel Core i7-4770 at 3.4 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 at 3.2 GHz, or equivalent | 8 GB | Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10, 64-bit | High |
| 4K (2160p), 30 FPS | GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD RX Vega 56, 8 GB VRAM | Intel Core i7-6700 at 3.4 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X at 3.6 GHz, or equivalent | 16 GB | Windows 10, 64-bit | High |
| 4K (2160p), 60 FPS | GeForce GTX 1080 SLI or AMD RX Vega 56 CFX, 8 GB VRAM | Intel Core i7-6700K at 4.0 GHz or AMD Ryzen 7 1700X at 3.4 GHz, or equivalent | 16 GB | Windows 10, 64-bit | High/Ultra |
All four rows are Ubisoft’s published specifications; they also call for Shader Model 5.0 or better. Ubisoft’s announcement does not establish that a particular PC will produce exactly the listed frame rate, and these are not independent benchmark results. Ubisoft’s 2018 PC requirements announcement.
Can a GTX 1070 run Far Cry 5 at 4K?
Ubisoft included the GTX 1070 in its 4K/30 FPS configuration, alongside an RX Vega 56. The target pairs that GPU with 16 GB RAM, a Core i7-6700 or Ryzen 5 1600X, Windows 10 64-bit, and the High preset. The listing supports the specific 4K/30 claim; it does not establish a 4K/60 target for a single GTX 1070.

Why “GTX 1070 or better for 4K” needs qualification
“4K” alone leaves out the frame-rate target and graphics preset. Ubisoft’s 4K/60 tier calls for GTX 1080 SLI or RX Vega 56 CFX, a faster CPU tier, 16 GB RAM, and High/Ultra settings. SLI and CFX denote multi-GPU configurations, not a single GTX 1080 or Vega 56. A GPU described as “better” also does not by itself confirm that the rest of a system matches Ubisoft’s configuration.
How the minimum and recommended tiers differ
The minimum specification is for 720p on Low settings, not a 1080p or 4K target. Ubisoft’s recommended 1080p tier names a GTX 970 or R9 290X, 8 GB RAM, and High settings at 60 FPS. Those are distinct targets, so meeting the minimum does not imply meeting the recommended frame rate or resolution.

Storage and differences between Ubisoft listings
The Ubisoft Store’s current surfaced PC listing gives 40 GB of storage and lists Windows 10 64-bit for its minimum and recommended tiers. It names GTX 670 or R9 270 with 2 GB VRAM and 8 GB RAM for minimum, and GTX 970 or R9 290X with 4 GB VRAM and 8 GB RAM for recommended. Its OS presentation differs from the 2018 announcement, which also lists Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 for those two tiers; that difference between official listings does not by itself prove a change in the game’s underlying hardware needs. Ubisoft Help’s Spanish-language requirements page gives minimum 720p/30 FPS and recommended 1080p/60 FPS targets, followed by 4K/30 and 4K/60 tiers. It lists DirectX 12 for the 4K tiers and 40 GB storage; it also says laptop versions of listed cards may be an option when their performance is similar to the minimum requirements. Because this localized support listing differs in wording from Ubisoft’s original announcement, its details should be attributed to that listing rather than silently combined with the 2018 configurations. Ubisoft said the PC version would include a benchmark feature and a video-memory usage meter to help players assess their systems and adjust visual options. The announcement also described aspect-ratio support, field-of-view adjustment, optional FPS locking, and resolution scaling. Ubisoft said hardware auto-detection would choose a matching quality preset and resolution; that is a stated feature, not a guarantee that its selection suits every player’s preferred balance of image quality and frame rate.
