Fairshake says it is backing 32 House candidates for the November 2026 midterms: 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. It has disclosed plans to spend $1 million each on six of them; the amount planned for the other 26 has not been reported. The announcement comes after digital-asset market-structure legislation stalled in the Senate.
Which House candidates is Fairshake backing?
The Associated Press reports that the slate includes 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. Roll Call named the candidates below in its October 5 account, but the names it published do not complete the reported 32-person roster. The six candidates with announced $1 million commitments are identified separately.

The total and party breakdown are reported by AP. Roll Call’s account provides the additional names listed above, but not a complete roster of all 32, so the missing names should not be inferred.
How much is Fairshake spending on the House slate?
Fairshake plans to spend $1 million each on Bynum, Horsford, Tran, Hill, Steil and Huizenga, according to AP and Roll Call. The reporting does not disclose the intended amount for the other 26 candidates. That means the six announced commitments do not establish a total budget for the 32 House races.

Fairshake’s cash figures also depend on whether the number refers to the PAC alone or its wider network. AP reported about $120 million in cash on hand at the end of August for Fairshake and its affiliates; Roll Call, citing Federal Election Commission data, reported $108 million on hand for Fairshake itself at the end of August. These are distinct scopes and dated snapshots, not October cash totals.
Why does Fairshake say it supports these candidates?
Fairshake describes its slate as bipartisan and focused on candidates supportive of crypto and innovation. Spokesperson Geoff Vetter told AP, “We back pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties.” AP also reports that all 32 backed legislation that was a priority for the cryptocurrency industry. That alignment and Fairshake’s stated rationale do not establish that crypto policy was the only consideration in each selection.

Fairshake’s official site describes it as a federal independent expenditure-only committee registered with the Federal Election Commission, and says it supports candidates “solely through its independent activities.” In other words, the committee’s spending is independent of candidate-authorized campaign activity; it should not be described as coordinated campaign spending. Fairshake publishes its own description of the committee, while FactCheck.org identifies Protect Progress and Defend American Jobs as affiliated super PACs.
What happened to the crypto market-structure bill?
The House passed digital-assets market-structure legislation in July 2025. The measure later stalled in the Senate and was blocked in a procedural vote in September 2026 amid disagreements that included ethics safeguards, according to AP and Roll Call. Fairshake’s House announcement followed that setback, placing the candidate slate amid a continuing fight over federal rules for digital assets.

How does the House announcement fit Fairshake’s broader spending?
AP reported Fairshake’s separate plan to spend nearly $30 million against Ohio Senate candidate Sherrod Brown, a larger announced general-election tranche than the six disclosed $1 million House commitments. The figures concern different races and should not be added together as a total for the House slate.
The spending also follows a substantial earlier cycle. AP reported that in 2024 Brown faced nearly $40 million in cryptocurrency spending and lost to Bernie Moreno. In that cycle, Fairshake’s network supported Democratic Senate candidates Ruben Gallego and Elissa Slotkin with about $10 million each, illustrating the group’s activity across party lines. These race-specific figures are not a measure of the 2026 House slate’s impact.

For historical scale, the FEC’s PAC Table 12b lists Fairshake disbursements of $161,258,594 from January 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024. That figure covers the stated historical period, not the 2026 cycle. FactCheck.org reported on August 7, 2026, that Fairshake had received almost $137 million in the 2026 election cycle and held about $127 million in its latest filing in July; it also reported at least $51 million contributed to its two affiliated super PACs during the cycle. Those earlier snapshots should not be substituted for the later end-of-August cash figures.
