No—the reported Exynos 1610 is not simply an Exynos 1330 with its 5G modem removed. The two chips share a similar 2+6 CPU layout, but reporting on the Galaxy A18 4G points to changes in the 1610’s pipeline, GPU, memory support and media features. Samsung has published specifications for the Exynos 1330, but the 1610 details remain reports and reviewer analysis rather than an official Samsung specification sheet.
Is the Exynos 1610 just an Exynos 1330 without 5G?
No. Samsung’s official Exynos 1330 page documents that chip’s features, including an integrated 5G modem. By contrast, details about the Exynos 1610 come from specialist reporting and analysis of the Galaxy A18 4G—not a Samsung-published 1610 specification page.
GSMArena says its examination of kernel-source code indicates a modified pipeline in the 1610, rather than a simple modem swap. That is the publication’s technical finding, not a statement from Samsung. The 1610 is reported to use a 4G modem, but that connectivity difference does not account for all the reported changes.
Exynos 1610 vs. Exynos 1330 specifications
The comparison below separates Samsung’s published Exynos 1330 information from specifications attributed to reporting about the Exynos 1610. Actual phone configurations can limit what a chip supports.

| Evidence | Reported by specialist publications; Samsung had not published an official 1610 specification page in coverage checked as of October 2026. SamMobile | Manufacturer specifications are available on Samsung’s Exynos 1330 page. |
| Process | Reported as Samsung Foundry 5nm / 5LPE. SamMobile | Samsung describes a 5nm EUV process. |
| CPU | Reported as 2× Cortex-A78 at 2.4GHz and 6× Cortex-A55 at 2.0GHz. SamMobile; GSMArena | Samsung describes two Cortex-A78 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores; the reviewed page text does not state their clock speeds. |
| GPU | Reported as Mali-G68 MP4; GSMArena qualifies its identification. GSMArena | Mali-G68 with two cores (MP2), as reported by GSMArena. GSMArena |
| Cellular modem | Reported as 4G. SamMobile | Integrated sub-6GHz 5G. Samsung lists maximum modem rates of 2.55Gbps download and 1.28Gbps upload; these are manufacturer-stated maxima, not real-world guarantees. |
| Memory support | LPDDR4X support reported. The Galaxy A18 4G review does not officially specify that phone’s RAM details. GSMArena | LPDDR5 support is reported by GSMArena; a phone using the chip may instead be configured with LPDDR4X. GSMArena |
| Video capability | ISP reported to support 4K/60fps and VP9 hardware decoding. GSMArena | Samsung lists 4K recording up to 30fps. |
Where the reported differences matter
Connectivity: 4G versus integrated 5G
The Exynos 1330’s integrated sub-6GHz 5G modem is a clear advantage if you need 5G connectivity. The reported 1610 is a 4G chip, so a phone using it does not gain 5G simply because the 1330 has it. Samsung’s listed 1330 modem rates are peak specifications, not promises about speeds on a particular carrier or network.
GPU: more reported cores, but no settled gaming verdict
The reported Mali-G68 MP4 configuration gives the 1610 more GPU cores than the 1330’s Mali-G68 MP2. That difference is relevant, but core count alone does not establish how a phone will perform in every game; device cooling, software and game settings also affect the experience.
Benchmark evidence calls for particular caution. SamMobile reports 483,061 AnTuTu points and 1,434 3DMark Wild Life Extreme points for the Galaxy A18 4G. GSMArena says the graphics result was unusually high and may be a fluke. These are device results, and the questioned graphics score is not enough to establish that the 1610 will outperform higher-tier chips or deliver better gaming in general.

Memory and media features: chip support is not the whole phone
GSMArena reports LPDDR4X support for the 1610 and LPDDR5 support for the 1330, while noting that budget phones can use LPDDR4X even when a chip supports LPDDR5. A handset’s actual memory type and configuration—not just the SoC’s maximum support—matter when comparing devices.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe 1610’s reported ISP capability also does not guarantee that a phone will expose every supported recording mode. In GSMArena’s Galaxy A18 4G review, the phone records at up to 1080p/30fps, despite the reported 1610 ISP support for 4K/60fps.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What do the Galaxy A18 4G benchmarks show?
The Galaxy A18 4G is reported as the first phone using the Exynos 1610. SamMobile reports its Geekbench 6 result as 953 single-core and 2,144 multi-core points. These scores describe that phone and test run, not a fixed score guaranteed by every device with the chip.
For context, GSMArena lists 975 single-core points for the Galaxy A16 5G with an Exynos 1330 in its comparison table. That is a small difference in one reported single-core result, not a comprehensive head-to-head test of phones under identical conditions. The available figures do not settle which chip is faster overall.
Is the Exynos 1610 closer to the Exynos 1280?
The 1330 is a useful comparison because of its similar reported CPU layout and its 5G-versus-4G contrast. However, GSMArena considers the Exynos 1280 a closer comparison to the 1610 in some respects. That does not make the 1610 a confirmed 1280 rebrand either: the available evidence still consists of reporting and reviewer analysis, not a full official 1610 specification release.

- Choose based on the phone, not the chip name alone. The Galaxy A18 4G’s 1080p/30fps recording limit shows why advertised or reported SoC capability may not match enabled device features.
- Check the network requirement. The reported 1610 is 4G; Samsung specifies integrated sub-6GHz 5G for the 1330.
- Do not infer gaming performance from GPU core count or one graphics score. The reported 1610 GPU has more cores, but GSMArena flags an unusually high 3DMark result as a possible fluke.
- Treat 1610 specifications as reported, not manufacturer-confirmed. Samsung’s published Exynos 1330 page is not an official specification sheet for the 1610.
