EURO 2004: England win 4-2

England’s 4-2 victory in Portugal was an early competitive success against Croatia. The match is included in UEFA’s head-to-head record.

EURO 2008 qualifying: Croatia’s Wembley win eliminates England

Croatia beat England 2-0 in Zagreb in October 2006, then won 3-2 at Wembley on 21 November 2007. England needed at least a draw in the Wembley match to qualify for EURO 2008, so the defeat ended their chance to reach the finals. England’s retrospective documents the qualification consequence.

2010 World Cup qualifying: England respond with two big wins

England reversed the previous qualifying results by winning 4-1 in Zagreb in September 2008 and 5-1 at Wembley in September 2009. Both were 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, listed by UEFA.

2018 World Cup semi-final: Croatia prevail after extra time

EURO 2020: England take a narrow group-stage win

Raheem Sterling scored the only goal as England beat Croatia 1-0 on 13 June 2021. The result was the teams’ first meeting since the 2018 semi-final. UEFA’s match report confirms the score and scorer.

2026 World Cup: England win 4-2

England beat Croatia 4-2 in the Group L opener on 17 June 2026, after the teams were level 2-2 at half-time. Harry Kane scored twice, with Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford also on the scoresheet; Martin Baturina and Petar Musa scored for Croatia. The result is reported by England Football.
