Yes. Bluink says its eID-Me digital identity app is now available across Canada, so people can register wherever they live in the country, subject to the app’s device and identity-document requirements. That does not mean every business, government office or online service accepts it. Both app-store listings also say eID-Me cannot currently be used as a substitute for legal identification. Keep your physical ID available and check with the organization you plan to use it with.
What Canada-wide availability means
Bluink describes eID-Me as available across Canada. That is a statement about the app’s availability and ability to register—not a nationwide acceptance guarantee or evidence of government deployment. An organization must support eID-Me for you to use it there. Bluink’s FAQ says the app is now available across Canada (Bluink FAQ), and the Google Play listing uses the wording “Now available Canada-wide!” (Google Play listing).
Can eID-Me replace a driver’s licence or other legal ID?
No. Both the Android and iPhone listings say eID-Me cannot currently be used as a substitute for legal identification. Do not assume it will satisfy an ID check just because it is available in your province or territory. Ask the specific organization whether it accepts eID-Me for the transaction, and bring the physical ID it requires.
What eID-Me does
Bluink describes eID-Me as an app that verifies identity using government-issued documents and a selfie liveness check, then creates a digital identity tied to the user’s phone. The identity can contain verified claims that the user can choose to share during an online or in-person transaction. Bluink says an organization requests information from the user’s phone with permission rather than accessing a centralized store of user information. These are descriptions of the vendor’s workflow; they do not mean every service supports the app or will accept a completed identity.

Requirements for Android and iPhone
The registration requirements differ by platform. Check the current listing for your device before installing, as store information and app requirements can change.

Requirements above come from the Google Play listing and Apple App Store listing. The Android listing specifically mentions NFC and proximity to the address on the ID; do not assume those requirements apply to iPhone based on these listings.

Privacy and security claims: what the listings say
The Apple App Store listing says identity information is held on the iPhone rather than hosted centrally or in the cloud, and that it is not accessible to others until the user chooses to share it. It also describes encryption, use of iPhone hardware security mechanisms, and binding the wallet to the phone’s authentication method, such as Face ID, Touch ID or a PIN. Apple labels these privacy details as developer-provided and says it has not verified them.
Google Play’s data-safety section likewise identifies its details as provided by the developer and says practices may vary by use, region and age. It currently reports no data collected and no data shared with third parties. Treat these as the stores’ current developer disclosures, not as an independent security audit or a guarantee about every data-processing context.

Bluink makes separate claims about its identity verification SDK for organizations: it says identity information is verified on Canadian servers, encrypted at rest and in transit using AES-256, and deleted from its servers after verification. - Identify the transaction. Find out which organization needs to verify your identity and whether the transaction is online or in person.
- Ask that organization directly. Confirm that it accepts eID-Me for that specific service and ask what other identification, if any, you must bring.
- Check your phone and documents. Compare your device and ID against the current Google Play or App Store requirements.
- Register before you need it. Complete the document verification and liveness check in advance, and follow the app’s current prompts. Do not leave registration until an appointment or transaction where physical ID may still be required.
