The EarFun Wave Pro X is a feature-rich over-ear noise-cancelling headphone with a substantially lower reported price than flagship models from Bose and Sony. Its headline strengths are long manufacturer-rated battery life, broad codec support and useful connectivity. Independent reviews, however, do not establish that its noise cancellation or sound matches those premium rivals: Tom’s Guide praised its ANC and comfort but criticized its default tuning, while Pragmatic Audio said its raw noise attenuation falls short of top Bose and Sony models.
The supplied title’s “EarFun Pro X” appears to refer to the EarFun Wave Pro X, the model name used by the manufacturer and reviewers. This review evaluates the Wave Pro X on the evidence available, not a formally named “EarFun Pro X.”
What is the EarFun Wave Pro X?
The Wave Pro X is an over-ear wireless headphone with active noise cancellation (ANC). EarFun’s current product page lists a Qualcomm QCC3095 chip, Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint connectivity, wired listening and support for LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless, aptX HD and LC3. That is a broad feature set for a headphone positioned well below premium-priced competitors.
Its physical design combines coaxially arranged 40mm DLC and 10mm LCP drivers. EarFun also specifies an eight-microphone adaptive hybrid ANC system, an 800mAh battery and a weight of 259g. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. EarFun’s product page is a Japanese regional listing; check your local listing for market-specific availability and details.

How does the Wave Pro X sound and cancel noise?
ANC and comfort
Tom’s Guide found the ANC effective in office and public-transport settings and reported that the headphones remained comfortable over six hours of wear. Those are that reviewer’s observations, not a guarantee that the fit or noise reduction will suit every listener.
Pragmatic Audio says the Wave Pro X does not attenuate noise as well as the Sony WH-1000XM5, Bose QC Ultra or AirPods Max. Its comparison table names newer alternatives—the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Bose QC Ultra (2nd Gen)—but its listed prices come from EarFun comparison material, not a standardized head-to-head ANC test. The evidence supports “capable ANC for less,” not “Bose-level” cancellation.

Sound and calls
Tom’s Guide’s main sound criticism is that the bass can seem muddy or muffled and the treble harsh. The reviewer found equalizer adjustments could improve the sound. If you prefer a polished default tuning and do not want to adjust EQ, that reported weakness matters more than codec support on a spec sheet.
Tom’s Guide described call quality as decent, while noting that voices could occasionally sound distant or echoey. Treat that as a reviewer’s experience rather than a guarantee for calls in every environment.

Battery life: manufacturer rating versus review test
EarFun currently rates the Wave Pro X for up to 90 hours with ANC off and up to 50 hours with ANC on. The company notes that playback time varies with volume and content; these are manufacturer claims, not independently verified endurance figures. See the current EarFun specifications for the stated ratings.
Tom’s Guide reports listening for about 20 hours with ANC enabled and having 55% battery remaining. The reviewer extrapolated roughly 50 hours from that partial test and explicitly did not run the battery all the way down. The result is consistent with the manufacturer’s ANC-on rating, but it is not a complete drain test. Tom’s Guide also lists a 15-minute charge for 10 hours of playback; that fast-charge figure is a separate reported claim and should not be confused with the ANC-on battery test.

There is a specification discrepancy worth knowing about if you encounter older launch coverage. EarFun’s launch release described five microphones, up to 100 hours and 10 hours of playback from a 10-minute charge. The current product page and more recent reviews instead describe eight microphones and 90 hours with ANC off or 50 hours with it on. The available sources do not establish when or why EarFun changed those figures, so the current product page is the better reference for the present specification.

| Model | Price reported by Pragmatic Audio | What the comparison establishes |
|---|---|---|
| EarFun Wave Pro X | $129.99 | Reported price in the review’s comparison table; not a live quote. |
| Sony WH-1000XM6 | $449.99 | Price in the same table; not a standardized performance comparison. |
| Bose QC Ultra (2nd Gen) | $449 | Price in the same table; not a standardized performance comparison. |
| Sennheiser Momentum 5 | $399.95 | Price in the same table; not a standardized performance comparison. |
The price gap is substantial in that comparison, but it does not prove equivalent performance. Pragmatic Audio specifically places the Wave Pro X below top Bose and Sony models for raw noise attenuation. When weighing the difference, compare local prices alongside low-frequency noise reduction and voice handling, ANC-on battery life, comfort, codec and multipoint needs, and the default sound before EQ. The cited reviews do not provide a standardized head-to-head result across all of those categories.
Who should buy the EarFun Wave Pro X?
- Consider it if you want over-ear ANC, multipoint and extensive codec support at a much lower reported price than premium alternatives, and you value long claimed battery life.
- Look elsewhere or compare carefully if your priority is the strongest available noise reduction, you dislike adjusting EQ, or a reliably clear call sound is essential. The cited reviews identify limitations in attenuation, default tuning and occasional call quality.
- Check before ordering if you rely on a particular codec, wired setup, color or local warranty. Bluetooth and codec specifications alone do not establish compatibility with every phone, app or audio source.
Verdict
The EarFun Wave Pro X looks like a compelling lower-cost feature set rather than a proven substitute for a Bose or Sony flagship. Its broad connectivity, high current battery rating and reviewer-praised comfort and ANC make it worth considering at the reported price; its weaker raw attenuation versus premium rivals and polarizing default tuning are meaningful trade-offs. Buy it for value and features, not on the assumption that it delivers flagship noise cancellation or sound out of the box.
