Dundas Chart for .NET OLAP Services 5.5 is a legacy charting product associated with Dundas Chart for ASP.NET Enterprise Edition—not Dundas BI or Dundas Custom Analytics. An archived release-note excerpt highlights FastPoint charts and several interactive controls in 5.5, but the available evidence does not establish whether the product is still sold, supported, or compatible with current .NET and Windows releases.

What Dundas Chart for .NET OLAP Services 5.5 is

The name refers to a specific version of Dundas’s ASP.NET charting software with OLAP Services, rather than to the company’s present-day analytics products. A historical Visual Studio Marketplace listing describes Dundas Chart for ASP.NET Enterprise Edition as including Dundas Chart for ASP.NET OLAP Services. That listing is historical: it establishes the product relationship, not current availability, licensing, or support.

Archived Dundas Chart for ASP.NET help covers installation and configuration, chart types and data, rendering, formulas, and the API. The archive bears a 2001–2009 copyright notice, so it is useful as historical documentation, not evidence of present-day platform requirements.

What changed in version 5.5

An indexed excerpt of Dundas’s 5.5 release notes lists the following highlights. The original release-note page was not directly available, so this should not be treated as a complete feature list.

  • FastPoint chart type: listed as an Enterprise Edition feature.
  • Chart interface controls: user-interface support, stand-alone and integrated chart toolbars, a property dialog, and a context menu.
  • Navigation and scale options: scale breaks, zooming, and scrolling.
  • Legend improvements: the excerpt notes changes to legends without detailing them.

Why the edition matters

The archived help says Enterprise-only features are marked in the documentation and are unavailable in Professional Edition. The 5.5 excerpt specifically identifies FastPoint and the listed interface features as Enterprise Edition-only. Do not assume that a Professional installation includes those capabilities; verify the exact edition and its documentation when assessing an existing deployment.

What to verify before using an old installation

The sources establish historical product and edition details, but not whether version 5.5 can be purchased, licensed, maintained, or supported today. They also do not verify compatibility with current .NET or Windows versions. For a legacy implementation, check these points against the actual installer, license records, archived documentation, and the environment where the application must run:

  • Whether the installation is Professional or Enterprise.
  • Whether OLAP Services is included in the specific Enterprise product and license.
  • Whether the application depends on a 5.5 feature such as FastPoint or the interactive controls.
  • Whether the required documentation and API references are available for that installation.
  • Whether the product’s runtime and dependencies work on the intended .NET and Windows versions; current compatibility is not established by the sources cited here.

Is Dundas Chart 5.5 a current Dundas product?

It should be treated as a legacy product. Dundas’s current release-notes index points to newer Dundas BI material, not Chart 5.5. A separate current Custom Analytics system-requirements page concerns another product line and cannot establish Chart 5.5 compatibility. Neither page verifies the old chart product’s current sales, licensing, support, or technical status.
