Dressmaker’s Steam listing describes choosing fabric, cutting patterns, and sewing garments, making it the clearest fit here for players who want garment construction to be central.
An unofficial game reference describes a broader sequence: choose cloth, sketch and color a design, cut pattern pieces, sew and decorate the garment, then fulfill commissions or sell finished dresses in a shop window. Treat those additional workflow details as the reference site’s description, rather than an official developer statement.

The available descriptions establish simulated game mechanics, not practical instruction. They do not show that playing Dressmaker teaches real-world sewing skills, so approach it as a creative simulation rather than a sewing course.

Nintendo Presents: Style Boutique
Nintendo’s official manual describes dressing and displaying mannequins, selecting stock, matching boutique décor to customers and merchandise, and taking part in fashion contests. The emphasis is on styling and presenting looks within a boutique setting, not on cutting and stitching fabric.

- Pick a styling-focused game if you mainly want to coordinate outfits, respond to style preferences, and present looks.
- Pick a boutique-management game if you want to stock products, arrange displays, serve customers, track sales, or expand a store.
Check how much time each game devotes to the activity you care about. A boutique simulator can include outfit styling without simulating garment construction; a dressmaking game can include customers without making retail operations its main focus.
