Which DreamQuest N100 configuration was tested?
The LinuxLinks review covered a system with an Intel N100 processor, 16GB of DDR4 memory, and a 512GB M.2 SSD. The N100 has four cores and four threads, with a reported maximum turbo frequency of 3.40GHz. These specifications describe the reviewed unit; listings with the same product name may differ. Which Linux distributions worked?
LinuxLinks reports successful operation on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.10, Arch, Devuan, Fedora, openSUSE, and Debian, without additional drivers. Ubuntu 24.10 was the review’s test environment in 2024, so treat it as historical test context rather than a recommendation to install that release now. The results support Linux compatibility for the reviewed machine, but do not establish that every hardware revision or batch will behave identically.
Can you upgrade the memory and storage?
The review describes two memory slots, with one 16GB DDR4 module installed and expansion to 32GB, plus two M.2 2280 slots that support SATA and PCIe 3.0 SSDs. That offers room to expand memory or storage, but check the precise configuration before ordering parts: the compatible memory type, SSD interface, and supported capacity can depend on the specific unit.

What networking hardware does it include?
The reviewed configuration is reported to have Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.2, and two RJ45 Ethernet ports. Those connections can suit a compact file server, media host, home-automation controller, or homelab node. Verify the wireless module and Ethernet details on the exact listing rather than assuming all batches use identical components.
What can it handle, and what are its limits?
The four-core N100 is a modest processor suited to everyday browsing and office work, media playback, file serving, home automation, and light container workloads. The reviewed unit’s hardware and reported test results do not establish it as a strong choice for modern gaming, professional video editing, large databases, sustained compilation, or running several virtual machines at once.

Thermals and fan noise
In the review’s stress test, loading all four cores raised the processor temperature to about 55°C. The fan ran continuously and was audible from one metre away in a very quiet environment. The reviewer also reported that BIOS fan-profile controls had no practical effect during testing. These observations describe that test and unit; they are not a guarantee of identical noise or temperatures across batches.

- Installed RAM type and capacity, and the stated maximum.
- SSD model, form factor, interface, and the number of available M.2 slots.
- Wireless hardware and the BIOS revision, if the seller provides them.
- Ethernet and display connections against your intended setup.
- Whether an operating system is included and, if installing Linux yourself, whether the listing describes the same hardware configuration as the tested unit.
For a comparison with another N100 mini PC, weigh the actual RAM and SSD configuration, M.2 slot types and count, Ethernet ports, wireless module, display outputs, firmware behavior, sustained thermals, fan noise, and access for upgrades—not just the processor name.
