Download Alienware Command Center (AWCC) from Dell’s Drivers & Downloads page after identifying your computer; the correct package and available features depend on the model. Run the downloaded installer, install any prerequisites it lists, and restart Windows when setup finishes.
Dell’s current full installer listing is version 6.14.4.0, A00, released May 21, 2026. Its 64-bit executable is approximately 879.23 MB; check your own product’s support page because this package may not apply to every model.
Before installing AWCC
- Use a computer or Alienware peripheral supported by the applicable AWCC version. Dell’s package listing is for Alienware and Dell G Series systems; support and features vary by model.
- Sign in to Windows with an administrator account.
- Keep the computer connected to power and the Internet during download and installation.
- Save your work because Windows must be restarted after installation.
AWCC modules are model-dependent. They may include Performance controls for thermal management, overclocking, and an overlay; AlienFX for lighting and key bindings; and Game Library for assigning configuration presets to games.
Download Alienware Command Center for Windows 11

- Select Find Drivers.
- Under Operating System, select the installed Windows 11 edition.
- Set Category to Application.

Dell’s current full-installer example is named Alienware-Command-Center-6-x-Full-Installer-for_HXN03_WIN64_6.14.4.0_A00.EXE. Do not use that filename instead of checking your own product: Dell determines supported packages by model.

Web installer or full installer?
| Installer | Best for | Internet requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Web installer | A smaller initial download when the computer has reliable Internet access | Needs a consistent connection while it downloads required components |
| Full or offline installer | Limited connectivity or transferring the package to another computer | Does not need a consistent connection during installation, though prerequisites or updates may still require downloads |
The current full package is about 879.23 MB. If a web installer fails because the connection drops, check whether Dell offers a model-specific full installer for your computer.

Upgrading from AWCC 5.x to AWCC 6.x
AWCC 5.x and AWCC 6.x cannot coexist. For the supported upgrade path on systems such as the Alienware x16 R1, m16 R1, and m18 R1, the AWCC 6 Installation Manager removes AWCC 5 automatically; you do not need to uninstall AWCC 5 first.
The upgrade can take at least 10–17 minutes. In the Task Scheduler upgrade path, there may be no progress window or completion message. If AWCC disappears or will not open during the upgrade, wait approximately 10–15 minutes and do not restart the laptop during that process.
AWCC 5.x profiles and themes do not migrate to AWCC 6. Record settings you may need to recreate before upgrading.

While your computer's performance might be slightly impacted, this option may also reduce both CPU and GPU power consumptions.
Dell documents Microsoft Store as an update path for systems upgrading from AWCC 5.0, not as the authoritative source for every current installation. For a new manual AWCC 6 installation, use the model-specific package on Dell Drivers & Downloads. To control Store updates, open Microsoft Store → profile icon → App settings, then use the App updates toggle. AWCC 5.x is no longer supported through Microsoft Store.
Fix AWCC when a normal installation fails
If AWCC is partially installed, will not open, or continues to show missing components, use Dell’s clean removal procedure before reinstalling. Removing folders can erase saved settings and profiles, so use this cleanup only when a normal uninstall and reinstall does not resolve the problem.

Common installation problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The installer says prerequisites are missing | Install every prerequisite identified in the installer dialog, then continue with AWCC setup. |
| AWCC is missing during the upgrade | Wait approximately 10–15 minutes. The upgrade may run without a progress window; do not restart during the process. |
| No devices appear in AWCC | Check whether the computer or peripheral is supported by that AWCC version. A generic package cannot add support for unsupported hardware. |
| The installer fails immediately | Confirm that the package matches your product, use an administrator account, keep the computer connected to power and the Internet, and try Dell’s full installer if available. |
| AWCC 5 and AWCC 6 conflict | Do not install both versions. On the supported upgrade path, AWCC 6 removes AWCC 5; installing AWCC 5 after AWCC 6 triggers an automated stop. |
| Lighting or performance controls are absent | Check your product’s Dell support page and manual. Available AWCC modules depend on model and may not indicate an installation problem. |
Verify the installation
- Open Start and search for Alienware Command Center.
- Launch the application and allow its first required-update check to finish.
- Check for expected sections such as Performance, AlienFX, or Game Library.
- Test a supported function, such as changing a lighting zone or selecting a performance profile.
If the application opens but a feature is missing, verify model support before reinstalling. Dell says AWCC can work on some other computers that meet its requirements, including with supported Alienware gaming keyboards, mice, and headsets; peripheral support is not universal.
