No perimeter wire is needed: Mammotion says the LUBA 3 AWD is a “Perimeter Wire Free Robot Lawn Mower.” Wi-Fi is not listed as a mowing requirement for the 3000; Mammotion describes this model as using built-in 4G and iNavi/NetRTK. However, the available product information does not establish how it behaves if both Wi-Fi and mobile service are unavailable.
How the LUBA 3 AWD 3000 defines lawn boundaries
Instead of a buried perimeter wire, you map the lawn digitally. Mammotion says to guide the mower around the lawn to complete a map, then use the app to view and edit it. The map can include virtual walls and no-go zones. See Mammotion’s LUBA 3 AWD series page for its mapping and boundary features.
Mammotion’s US listing identifies the LUBA 3 AWD 3000 as a 0.75-acre model. That coverage figure belongs to the 3000 variant; do not assume another LUBA 3 variant has the same positioning setup or coverage. Mammotion’s US product listing describes the model and its features.
Does it need Wi-Fi or an RTK base station?
Mammotion describes the 3000 as having built-in 4G and iNavi, which lets it use NetRTK without a physical RTK base station. The manufacturer’s series page likewise describes iNavi as connecting automatically without an RTK antenna or setup. That means Wi-Fi is not stated as a requirement for the 3000’s described iNavi positioning route; it does not prove that every function will work in every connectivity condition.

The product information reviewed does not establish whether the mower will mow normally if it has neither Wi-Fi nor mobile service. A March 29, 2026 TechRadar review discusses a physical RTK antenna option in that context, but current official availability and requirements for that option are not established here. Do not assume total service loss is covered by the same setup as normal iNavi operation.
What to check if setup or positioning is unreliable
Mammotion’s release notes show that LUBA 3 software has received positioning, map, network-stability, and out-of-boundary fixes. The latest visible LUBA 3 entry in the notes is dated July 18, 2026, and lists firmware v2.3.27.23, with fixes for device positioning failure, maps occasionally disappearing, and RTK reference-station movement reporting. Earlier 2026 entries mention network-stability improvements and fixes for occasional out-of-boundary issues. These are change-log records, not evidence that a particular mower currently has a fault.
