Resident Evil Requiem is getting additional story content, but Capcom has not confirmed that it will take players back to Spencer Mansion. The separate Resident Evil Veronica remake is scheduled for 2027; no announcement establishes that it shares the DLC’s setting or story, or that one release will spoil the other’s novelty.
What Capcom has confirmed about Requiem’s additional content
Resident Evil Requiem launched on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. On March 16, Capcom said the game had sold more than six million units worldwide and that it planned ongoing support and additional game content. Capcom’s announcement confirms more content is planned, not where it takes place.
Director Koshi Nakanishi said in a March 10 announcement, reproduced by PC Gamer, that extra story content was in development and would take time. He described it as delving deeper into Requiem’s world. The statement names no setting, characters, plot, or release date. Spencer Mansion is therefore a possibility raised by speculation, not a confirmed DLC destination.
Why a Spencer Mansion return seems plausible—and what that does not prove
There is a real franchise-wide connection behind the speculation. In remarks from the BIOHAZARD 30th Special Mook reported by PC Gamer, executive producer Jun Takeuchi described two tracks: numbered games advance the ongoing story, while remakes revisit the past. He said Capcom had been preparing for the point when those tracks catch up, and that Umbrella and Spencer references, along with Raccoon City’s return in Requiem, are part of preparation for a crossover.

That is evidence of a broad connective plan across the series. It does not identify Spencer Mansion as the setting of Requiem’s add-on, say that Resident Evil Veronica will feature the mansion, or establish that either story directly overlaps with the other. Those are separate claims and remain unconfirmed.
Requiem’s confirmed setting is not the DLC’s confirmed setting
Capcom’s 2025 Online Integrated Report describes the base game as set in Raccoon City, where a new character uncovers the truth behind the Raccoon City Incident. It identifies combat, exploration, puzzle solving, and first- and third-person perspectives as parts of the game. Producer Masato Kumazawa likewise described Requiem as returning to an overarching story rooted in Raccoon City and Umbrella in a PlayStation Blog interview.

These details establish the base game’s context, not the extra story’s location. A mansion visit could fit a franchise-wide connection, but the available announcements do not establish it. Nor does a reference to Spencer by itself mean the DLC returns to the mansion associated with that name.
How Resident Evil Veronica fits into the timing
Capcom announced Resident Evil Veronica on June 8, 2026, as a remake of 2000’s Resident Evil Code: Veronica, scheduled for 2027. The publisher said the story would be reimagined while preserving the original’s appeal; the announcement gives no exact release date or further story details. See Capcom’s announcement.

The games are not the same release: one is additional story content for Requiem, and the other is a remake. Their announced timing alone cannot show that they will compete over the same setting, reveal, or player experience. Without DLC details or a release date for Resident Evil Veronica, a claim that the remake will spoil a mansion return—or make it less novel—is premature.
