SpaceXAI’s published consumer materials do not say that ordinary Grok prompts are routinely sent to Claude or Anthropic. They describe Grok as powered by SpaceXAI large language models, but that is not proof that no other processing or service providers are involved. A selected feature that connects to a third-party service can send your content to that service, according to SpaceXAI’s Consumer Terms.
What the published policies say about Claude
SpaceXAI’s Consumer Terms describe Grok as powered by SpaceXAI large language models. The reviewed terms, privacy policy, and consumer FAQ do not identify Claude or Anthropic as a routine recipient of ordinary Grok prompts. That supports a limited conclusion: routine Claude routing is not documented in these materials. It does not establish that every internal processing path, vendor, or future implementation is known.
The terms do explicitly address connected features. SpaceXAI says that if you select a feature involving a third-party service, you authorize it to send your User Content out of the service. That is different from a claim that every prompt is sent to Claude. For a particular connector or feature, check its current description and the terms that apply to your account.
Which Grok service are you using?
The privacy rules and settings depend on where you access Grok. SpaceXAI’s Privacy Policy, effective August 24, 2026, covers Grok.com and the Grok mobile app. It says that when you access the service through a third-party platform, that platform’s policy applies; it specifically identifies Grok on X as governed by X’s Privacy Policy and Terms.

These are different service contexts, not interchangeable settings. The table summarizes the cited official materials; verify the current terms for your product, plan, and deployment.
Can Grok use your prompts to train its models?
For consumer use, SpaceXAI says it may use prompts, searches, other submitted materials, and responses to train models, and that users can control whether data is used for training. The Consumer FAQ describes a training-data control separately from personalization settings. Turning off training is about the specified model-improvement use; it should not be read as preventing processing needed to provide the service.

For Grok on X, X’s published instructions give this route: Privacy & Safety → Data sharing and personalization → Grok & Third-party Collaborators → Data Sharing. Toggle Data Sharing off. X says opting out still lets you use Grok on X, while your interactions, inputs, and results are not used to train or fine-tune Grok. Labels can change, so confirm them in your current app or account.
For Grok.com or the Grok app, use the training-data control described in SpaceXAI’s Consumer FAQ rather than assuming X’s setting applies. For enterprise/API use, consult the applicable agreement: the Enterprise FAQ says business inputs and outputs are not used to train models, with the stated exception for some free-credit arrangements where training may be agreed to.

What Private Chat does—and does not promise
Where Private Chat is available, SpaceXAI says its content is not used for training and the conversation is not viewable in your history. The FAQ says that content is deleted from SpaceXAI systems within 30 days; this is not an immediate-erasure promise. The stated exceptions include safety, security, or legal retention, as well as data that has been de-identified or pseudonymized and disassociated from the account.
Private Chat’s published terms address training, history visibility, and retention. They do not say that the feature prevents all processing needed to provide Grok or overrides the terms for a selected connected feature.

Does Grok share prompts with third parties?
SpaceXAI’s Consumer FAQ says, “We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.” That statement is specifically about sale and marketing or advertising sharing; it is not a promise that Grok never shares content with any third party for any reason.
SpaceXAI’s Privacy Policy also describes contracted service providers and other circumstances in which information may be disclosed. Its Consumer Terms separately explain that selecting a feature involving a third-party service authorizes SpaceXAI to send User Content to that service. These disclosures are why the more precise answer to the Claude question is that routine Claude routing is not stated in the reviewed materials—not that no third-party processing can occur.

What to check before entering sensitive information
- Identify the product surface: Grok.com, the mobile app, Grok on X, and enterprise/API use can have different governing policies and controls.
- Review connected features: If a feature uses another service or accesses content hosted elsewhere, read its description and authorization prompt before sending information.
- Set the applicable training control: Use SpaceXAI’s consumer setting for Grok.com/app, X’s Data Sharing setting for Grok on X, or the terms for your enterprise/API deployment.
- Use Private Chat only with its stated limits in mind: Its published protections do not mean immediate deletion or a blanket guarantee against all service processing.
- Check current policies and labels: SpaceXAI’s Consumer Terms were last updated September 11, 2026; its Privacy Policy is effective August 24, 2026. Settings and terms can change.
