Compare the ongoing cost of equivalent phone and internet service, including what happens when promotions end, and count perks only if you would otherwise pay for them. Then check that the internet service works for your address and household.
What a phone-and-internet bundle can actually save
A bundle may reduce the combined bill, add useful benefits, or make account management easier. Those are separate kinds of value: a discount is a lower price, a perk is valuable only if you use it, and linked accounts may still require separate bills and payments.
Carrier savings claims describe offers with eligibility rules, not a neutral estimate of what every household will save. For example, AT&T advertises 20% savings on eligible service combinations, while Verizon lists a $15 monthly discount for many eligible Mobile + Home combinations. Both depend on the plans and offer terms. AT&T’s bundle terms and Verizon’s Mobile + Home FAQ explain their respective conditions.
Benefits can extend beyond the bill. Verizon describes eligible perk credits and priority customer care. AT&T advertises backup internet for eligible Fiber and wireless customers, subject to activation, power, availability, and speed limitations. Treat either as added value only if it applies to your services and is useful to your household.

How to compare the real cost
Compare the bundle with your actual current bills and with equivalent standalone plans. Keep the number of mobile lines and the level of internet service consistent; a cheaper offer that includes fewer lines or a different service is not an apples-to-apples saving.
- Write down the services you need. Record each mobile line, the internet connection and speed level, and any features you rely on.
- Calculate the bundle’s regular monthly cost. Separate introductory pricing from the price after it ends. Include every line, internet service, taxes and fees, equipment, and any paid perks you would otherwise buy.
- Check offer conditions. Confirm whether AutoPay or paperless billing is required, which plans and customers qualify, how to enroll, when credits begin, and whether a promotion is temporary.
- Check the cost of leaving or changing service. Include discounts you would lose from a current provider, and check what happens if you cancel one service or change plans.
- Verify internet suitability at your address. Check availability, connection type, speed expectations, data prioritization, and compatibility with services such as live TV.
- Compare convenience and extras separately. Confirm whether accounts and bills actually merge, how you contact support, and whether backup connectivity or a perk is worth anything to you.
The useful result is the difference between the bundle’s full ongoing cost and the cost of equivalent separate services—not the advertised discount in isolation.

What current carrier examples show
These are offer examples, not a ranking or a guarantee of availability. Terms and prices are volatile; check the live offer and your address before deciding.
| Provider and offer | What the cited offer says | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Verizon Mobile + Home | Verizon lists a $15 monthly discount for many eligible combinations, with benefits varying by internet plan and purchase date. It also describes eligible perk credits and priority care. Fios and mobile accounts remain separate even when linked for program benefits. | Eligible plans and address availability; whether your purchase date affects benefits; and whether a cancellation or plan change ends or changes the discount. Verizon FAQ |
| Verizon One | The offer page advertises $70 per month after AutoPay for eligible home internet and one mobile line. It advertises one bill, with taxes, fees, and equipment included. Internet availability determines whether the service is Fios 500 Mbps, 5G Home Plus, or Verizon Home Internet Lite Extra. | Whether the offer and the named internet option are available at your address, and whether your service needs match the included plan. This is an offer example, not a universal rate. Verizon One offer |
| AT&T | AT&T advertises eligible wireless combinations with Fiber or Internet Air, including a 20% discount claim. Its page also shows a 1 Gig promotional example with AutoPay and tax-and-fee conditions. Eligible Fiber and wireless customers may receive backup internet. | Qualifying plans, promotion and billing conditions, backup-internet eligibility and limitations, and credit timing: AT&T says credits may take up to three bills to appear. AT&T bundle offer |
| T-Mobile phone and home internet bundle | The official offer page’s search-accessible listing gives a bundle price example for three lines of Experience More wireless plus T-Mobile Home Internet with AutoPay. It warns that speeds may be reduced during congestion and further reduced above 1.2 TB of use per month on the named plan. | Verify the live price, plan name, and full terms directly; the offer page could not be opened for confirmation. Check whether the internet service fits your home
Price is only useful if the connection works for the household. Fiber, cable, and fixed wireless differ in availability and performance. For fixed wireless in particular, speeds and service fit can vary by address; congestion and data prioritization may also affect use. If you rely on live TV or another service with specific compatibility needs, check that before switching.

A California Public Utilities Commission proceeding exhibit illustrates why comparisons need matched service assumptions and a date: its plan selection used download-speed tiers, noted that wireless internet speeds vary by address, and said its provider-price inputs were collected on January 20, 2026. It is a dated California proceeding document, not a current nationwide ranking. Read the CPUC proceeding exhibit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When bundling is likely to make sense
- The ongoing total is lower than equivalent separate services after promotions, fees, equipment, and AutoPay conditions are accounted for.
- The included internet plan is available at your address and meets your speed, usage, and compatibility needs.
- You will use included perks or backup connectivity that would otherwise cost you money.
- You understand whether you are getting one bill or linked but separate accounts, and what changes if you cancel or switch plans.
If the apparent saving depends on a short promotion, a perk you would not buy, or an internet plan that does not fit your needs, the headline discount may not translate into a better deal for you.
