Wash a reusable robot vacuum mop pad after each cleaning job or use, following the instructions for your exact model, and let it dry before reinstalling or storing it if the manufacturer directs. Replacement timing varies: several model-specific guides recommend a new pad every 3–6 months, while visible wear, lingering dirt, streaks, or weaker cleaning may call for earlier attention.
How often should you wash a reusable mop pad?
Clean the pad after every mopping job unless your robot’s instructions specify a different routine. iRobot’s care guidance for Roomba 100/1000 models says to clean the pad after a mopping job; Roborock’s C7 manual says to clean the mop cloth after each use. Dreame also instructs owners to remove and clean its pad.
Cleaning methods are model-specific. The cited Dreame instructions say to clean the removed pad with water and air-dry it. Roborock’s C7 manual likewise calls for washing and air-drying its mop cloth. ECOVACS says its washable pads can be washed and dried for reuse. These examples do not establish that every robot pad is washable in the same way, so check the manual before using a machine, detergent, or other method.
When should you replace the pad?

Use these intervals as examples of manufacturer guidance, not a schedule that applies to every robot. How often you mop and the pad’s condition matter. Inspect it and consider cleaning or replacing it sooner if it stays dirty after washing, looks worn, leaves streaks, or no longer cleans effectively. ECOVACS specifically advises washing or replacing its wiping pad promptly if it gets dirty during use or causes streaks.
What does the ECOVACS wash-count claim mean?
ECOVACS Australia says its mopping pad can be washed more than 40 times and used on both sides, attributing the service-life claim to ECOVACS lab data. That figure applies to the manufacturer’s pad claim; it is not a general lifespan for other brands or models. Follow the care and replacement instructions for the pad you own.
